As someone who has attended several colleges ranging from california to new york , I can say without a single doubt that this school has offered the poorest services I've ever experienced. I am a well traveled, and university educated former alumni of a california state university who is visiting family for the fall. I wanted to take a couple of music classes in my spare time to learn guitar, but instead am having a nightmare experience before I have even enrolled! I've submitted my transcripts twice and am now sending them a third time because school admissions and administration have not processed them yet! To add insult to injury , just yesterday I spoke to lorri blau in the testing center who yelled at me repetitively to "stand under the clock!" in a degrading and humiliating manner , my response was a cavalier "Jeez, i didn't know standing under the clock was a requirement at scottsdale community testing center!" , the fat cow mouthed off about something i can't remember. she did not do this to the other students who were female however ,NONE OF THEM WERE TOLD TO STAND UNDER THE CLOCK, which appeared to be the most obvious form of gender profiling I've ever experienced. Even worse, a female administrator called me later that day in regards to allegations I filed against lorri , yet still continued to have a very petulant attitude about the situation. She under stood perfectly well what the situation was at hand and continued to defend lorri until finally i revealed to her that I was forwarding this conversation and footage of lorri yelling at me to my producer at a local news station in phoenix. Yes, I am a journalist and yes , so is my sister and yes we both work for major news stations in two different states. As a white male i felt discriminated against by female school staff and administration at this campus. The entire front desk lacks diversity and is composed of mainly white females , which there is no excuse for. this entire school is run by feminist propaganda and I've decided to have a 7 month investigation done on the demographics of this institution. I've received complaints from four other students already through my postings who have had similar experiences, three male and one female. It upsets me that males are being discouraged from obtaining an education at this school. already have I written a column in my personal blog about this, soon i will be podcasting my experiences and soon I will be petitioning to have a story written on the place. these kids deserve better for the thousands of tax dollars given and there is no excuse for the quality of services to be so low. Lorri Blau if your fat face is reading this, don't think you are getting away with ANY of this. I've got YOU on TAPE discriminating against me and YOU will be held accountable for your actions along with scottsdale community college. If no action is taken on part of the college I will expose you and YOU WILL NEVER WORK...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo i was interested in the nursing assistant program offered here and if your looking into it don't waste your time or bother check out Arizona Medical Training Institute i got my CNA from them in a month! Here at SCC the requirements are absolutely endless and pointless. I took all my necessary pre reqs at SCC and spent money on required immunizations, CPR lessons, and doctor visits to only be turned away by the most rude and unprofessional women in the nursing office i have ever met in my life, her name is Charisse Rundle and what a miserable person she is. I was absolutely appalled by her rudeness and lack of respect, i spoke to this person on numerous occasions and each time was as ungracious as the last, i know i'm not the only person who has had unpleasant experiences with this woman so that should say a lot right there, i even considered taking it another community college farther away before i knew about AMTI just so i didn't have to deal with her anymore! However, I can't say enough good things about Arizona Medical Training Institute the place i received my CNA from, cheaper, offers classes for people of all schedules, new classes begin every month, they pay for your CPR class and they really care about their future students and current ones unlike SCC, Not to mention their requirements are minimal compared to SCC and who has time to waste a complete semester on something that can be completed in a month?! You wouldn't even be able to enroll into a future nursing program for the following semester because of how long SCCs program takes! Plus AMTI has the highest passing rate for CNAs in the state because the instructors teach you each exact step needed to pass your state boards! So if your thinking about SCCs nursing assistant program i can't advise you against it more check out AMTI! And i guarantee the people who help you there are lot more courteous and inviting than SCC! Never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a current student who signed up for in person classes and it is more like an online school with no set standards.
I am frustrated with teachers who are late, or don't show up at all, just to find that it's a Zoom class.
The Canvas App that is used for putting in your work is confusing and all the classes are mixed together.
I have asked for help and the help has not been helpful.
I am in film school. I posted a couple videos I took on my way to one of my first film classes, just to find out it was canceled.
I have shown up 3 times to find out that I missed a message that class was canceled. I am expected to check my messages to see whether or not I will still have class.
I am retired, and going back to school in my late 60s.
It isn't easy, and I have high standards.
I went to Gateway Community College 30 years ago and I loved it.
This college is not what I was expecting.
I need extra help, not less help, and that's why I chose to learn in school, but I think I need to switch to all online because I can't afford to drive 26 miles to find out the teacher has a stomach bug.
I am reading about the job I going to school for in the 600 page text book and it says, "if you can't come to work consider another career.
I am grouchy right now. I giving the school 2 stars which is up from 1 star, which is what I started with.
I learn more at home than at school.
I don't recommend the in school or hybrid classes because they are confusing.
The one online course I am taking is easier to navigate than the in person classes I am taking.
I am a...
