Wasatch Golf Course in Midway, Utah, holds a special place in my heart, bringing back fond memories of golfing with my dad. My recent visit last fall was a wonderful experience, as the course was in fantastic condition, just as I remembered it.
The Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf Course features two distinct 18-hole layouts: the Mountain Course and the Lake Course. Both courses offer unique challenges and stunning views, making every round an enjoyable adventure. During my visit, I played both courses and was impressed by the meticulous maintenance and pristine condition of the fairways and greens. The fall foliage added an extra layer of beauty, with vibrant colors enhancing the already picturesque surroundings.
The Mountain Course is particularly challenging, with its elevation changes, tight fairways, and strategically placed hazards. It requires precise shot-making and careful course management, keeping you on your toes throughout the round. The Lake Course, while slightly more forgiving, still offers plenty of challenges with its water features and well-placed bunkers. Both courses provide breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountains, creating a serene and inspiring golfing environment.
The facilities at Wasatch Golf Course are top-notch, with a well-stocked pro shop and excellent practice areas. The staff is friendly and professional, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Playing at Wasatch Golf Course last fall not only provided a fantastic golfing experience but also brought back cherished memories of times spent with my dad. It’s a place where the beauty of nature and the love of the game come together perfectly. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a memorable round of golf in a...
Read moreIt’s hard because I would rate this course as one of the best courses in the state. My problem is how it’s managed. If this was an isolated incident, I would not put it here, but something seems to happen half the time I play here. We had the first two tee times of the day. There was an hour long frost delay. After 10 holes (2 hours and 10 min in) our other 4some behind us calls and says this Twosome has to play through because they are employees on the course and have to get back to work by a certain time. Kind of annoying, but not that big of a deal. So we let them play through both of our 4somes real quick. Then we get to hole 14. The marshal shows up and starts harassing us about how we parked a cart on a hole with a confusing tee box that doesn’t follow the cart path. Then in a very annoyed manner tells us we need to speed up. The course is very backed up. We explained no one had even caught up to us. He still insisted we needed to play faster. So now for 15,16,17 and 18 we are worried about pace of play when we are currently under standard pace of play. There was an hour frost delay, of course you are going to be backed up at the pro shop. Don’t come mess up our round because you didn’t think to ask your employees to sit this round out so that you could catch up to other patrons tee times that were delayed. We fished the round at 3 hours and 57 min. There is always dumb stuff like this happening with the pro shop people here. I guess when your course is in such high demand it doesn’t really matter how you treat people. It’s...
Read moreMade two nine holes tee times on July 4th 6:12 pm and July 5th 11:00 am at lake course for front and back respectively. But somehow how got mixed up by the pro shop personnel according to one of the guy at pro shop, not known his position. He refused to let us play because it’s a nine holes at 11:00 am, we must play 18 holes or it can ruined the whole tee times system. His response was “ I wish the other guy wouldn’t booked such tee time”. Well, seems like there are some kind pro shop politics going on?! Denial and blame other staff’s booking!? We drove almost 90 minutes from Ogden. And after 10 minutes of “negotiations” back and forth. A lady at counter figured out a way to squeeze us in. We played about two hours without hardly seeing players in front nor back of us, basically the course has plenty of space to accommodate my tee time. However, the conclusion for this incident is either tee times management error or someone just having a bad day!? No one take responsibility nor apologize about it. It was the attitude that handling this matter upset me and guest from out of town.
I will gathering all the evidence to see if this is on going issue for tee times reservation mixed up or just simply discrimination. Hope this message reaches Bret Weston.
