Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Foxborough

Been a customer here for at least 10 years and used to enjoy coming here until my most recent experience. I went to purchase storage bins. I took the last few bins. They were black bins and had big white scratches on them and dents.

I asked the cashier if I could get a discount since they were damaged. I then spoke with the manager and she said well they are storage bins and they are going to get damaged so I don't know what to tell you. I told her I understand that and the products I am buying should be in new condition prior to purchasing them. From there, she gave me attitude and no discount. I ended up going to Home Depot down the street and purchased the exact same bins for a few dollars more and was content with that knowing that I was getting what I paid for.

I was extremely disappointed because all of the other staff there are great, the store is always clean, they are in a great location, and have good products. I am disappointed in the manager's response and attitude that I received for asking to provide a discount for the inconvenience of having to purchase technically a "used product" since it was damaged. Terrible experience lines are formed in aisles in which customers shop; so inefficient. Cashiers refuse to mark dollar amount on crazy deal gift cards. They shove the card and receipt towards you and tell you their pens don't work. They sell permanent markers within store. Here's a tip: open a package so your helping the customer. The store is set up with little room to shop. Aisles are clogged with humidifiers, fans in all shapes and sizes. Constant run one with carriages. ALWAYS keep the woman with pigtails as the main cashier for returns, special orders, etc. She is always kind, polite, efficient and very pleasant no matter how busy the store is. She doesn't belong on the floor stocking. Leave that to the short, chubby woman with no personality as she cannot run register one. Constantly yelling, barking orders to staff and closing cashiers after you've been waiting 20+ minutes in a line. She belongs on floor with Barry. Won't be back to...

It's ok for an off price retailer. Their pricing is reasonable and they send sale item circulars regularly through the mail. You can join their emailing for additional specials notification. Quantities may be limited, so be warned. I have gone there to buy sale items from time to time only to find I waited too long. The staff is helpful in many cases, but don't always know where an item might be found, or what's on sale that week. One cashier I encountered would not take a penny I offered with my payment because it was too dirty. I still shop there though. The merchandise I've purchased has always been as it should be and I've never had to return anything, so if you're looking for off priced items at reasonable prices go and browse.
