Very unfortunate experience with repairs - I would highly recommend everyone to use only Apple-certified repair services. First - the cost is identical, second - certified locations actually take responsibility for a repair. Shortly on what happened in my case - I had a crack on my iPhone XR. Came in to fix it and was charged $219. Unfortunately after this “repair” FaceID was no longer functional. Additionally, it appeared to me that they don’t use genuine Apple parts as the screen seem to have a slight delay compared to the original. No solutions was offered to me to fix FaceID, he simply recommended to go to Apple to do repairs. Apparently, “sometimes it happens”. Yes, it probably does - when you are not properly trained and sensitive electronics are involved. Sometimes you might fix it ok and other times like mine this person broke/scratched something and FaceID became unusable. He did return money (supposedly as a refund to my credit card) and put my broken screen back but I was suspecting right away that now my repairs will be way more expensive.
Which indeed turned out to be a case - since a third party repair was involved instead of a screen repair that costs $200, now I had to pay $400 and replace my phone to fix both my screen and FaceID. Additionally, at Apple they actually can do diagnostics of your phone when you come in so you always will have a proof that you phone was properly functioning when you gave it for repairs. Plus you have 90 days warranty after repairs if something goes wrong. At Apple they also said that they see a lot of cases of third party repairs going wrong both with finger print ID and now with FaceID.
Lesson learned a very hard way, and I would again encourage you all to use Apple-certified repairs only and please don’t use Easy Fix LLC and similar places. Good luck!
————————————————————— In response to Owner/supervisor:
Dear owner/supervisor (but mostly other customers that I don’t want to end up in the same situation):
As my review pointed out at a certified Apple repair store they run a diagnostics test when a phone is turned in and conditions of a phone are documented to avoid such back and forth, and unnecessary customer accusation. It’s unfortunate that your store doesn’t have any documentation system in place. Of course it’s just my word at this point (but also a diagnostics test that was done at a certified Apple store today) that suggests that phone was functional without any black screen as you suggested. The only issue I had was a cracked screen that I was trying to fix (and a broken FaceID after your repair). The best I can suggest in this case is that your employee confused me with another person who also had their FaceID not working after a repair at your store, the forth is that your employee unfortunately is not...
Read morePreviously, I have been here 3-4 times because I had a skateboard accident that resulted in a shattered screen and bent frame. I came here the first time because they were one of the few shops in MA that were opened and wasn’t charging $130+ for a iphone XR screen replacement. After the first fix, I was happy because I thought it was a ME problem. Over time my screen kept glitching or blacking out. I kept coming back because loyalty is important to me and I felt happy whenever my phone was fixed at an affordable price. The first couple of times I went, the guy only fixed my LCD and over time my LCD kept breaking and slowly losing its integrity.
Today I went for the same thing because my LCD started blacking out and I met John for the first time since the previous guy got fired. John immediately noticed my frame was bent and told me that the LCD kept breaking because my frame was bent and damaging the LCD from inside which is why I kept coming back.
He realized the unprofessionalism with the previous work that was done to my phone and tended to it. Now my phone is like brand new, frame is new, and it won’t be damaging my LCD for me to keep coming back, draining my money. Thank you John! Even though loyalty is something important to me and it doesn’t need to be said, I will always keep coming back to get any repairs done for any of my phones...
Read moreAvoid this place at all costs. I stopped by to see if they could swap a motherboard for me on my galaxy z flip 6 and the man confidently said he'd be able to. I dropped it off and He warned me the front screen may be damaged during removal and of course he broke it. As a screen repair shop isn't that the specialty? Removing screens. To access the motherboard only the front screen had to be removed. For some unknown reason the back glass was removed and they damaged the glass and the wireless charging pad. The board didn't work. I got my phone back and 2 crucial screws for the motherboard were missing, I call and ask if I can have them and I was told the guy who worked the day before lost them and they dont have any spares. This place is shady. A business should not treat people's expensive belongings like that. I just took my phone back in pieces because I dont trust them to do anything else. I'm waiting to hear back about my replacement screen and I'll do it myself. I work on cars and id never try return a vehicle with missing parts or touch anything that I...
