This review is based on my pre-delivery experience with Warehouse Showrooms, since I just ordered my furniture this week and am awaiting delivery; I will try to update once I get the furniture, but I was so impressed with this company that I didn't want to wait to write the review.
Typically, I hate furniture shopping, but the team at Warehouse Showrooms made my experience such a great one. I say team because the salespeople do not work on commission, so there is no unhealthy sales competition, and you get the benefit of the knowledge of all of their highly-qualified salespeople. I mostly worked with Jorge and Andy, but I think I talked to just about every salesperson in the two days I was in the store deciding what I wanted. I was blown away by how much each person knew (like exact measurements of each piece without having to look it up) and how friendly and kind and patient they all were. They have also mastered the balance between being helpful and being overbearing, checking in enough for me to know they were available to help but also leaving me alone to think/measure/text friends for second opinions. I checked out about local 4-5 furniture stores this past, and this one by far had the BEST customer service.
The furniture itself seems incredibly well made, sturdy, and comfortable. It is all American made (most or all of it Amish craftsmanship), and you can immediately feel the difference between it and the cheaper products sold by most furniture stores. I wanted a sleeper sofa, but I was nervous to get one because often it makes the couch less comfortable, and you can feel underneath the cushion that there is something hard below. But I tried several sleeper models here, and they were so comfortable that I had to remove the cushions to see if there was a sleeper below or not! Overall, the prices were a little higher than at some of the bigger box furniture stores, but not too much more, and for the huge quality differential, I was happy to pay a little more for what I got.
There is a great selection of furniture to choose from, though admittedly not as many different base models as at some of the big box stores. But one of my favorite things about this store is that while there are not as many unique base models as some other places, most models of sofa come available in several different options, like chair, ottoman, sofas of differing lengths, and sleeper vs. non-sleeper options. Those options plus the huge range of custom colors/fabrics available (dozens of options for free, plus dozens more for an upcharge) make it possible to get the perfect living room set, despite what might initially seem like a smaller selection. Many of the fabrics are also called "Kid proof," meaning they are easy to wash and maintain, and some of them are so sturdy they can be cleaned with bleach or scratched with a knife without being damaged.
My estimated delivery for my sofa and chair-and-a-half is about 2 months, which is good for any furniture place but great when you consider the fact that it is a customized set. The only potential downside I see for shopping at this store is that they do not have financing options available like some of the bigger stores. This was not a problem for me because I was planning to purchase the furniture outright, but I recognize this can be a barrier for people. They only require 1/3 of the payment upfront, though, and the other 2/3 are charged upon delivery, and the staff told me that they can work with you and hold the furniture a little longer before delivery if you need time to get all of the money together.
Suffice it to say, I was thoroughly impressed by my experience with Warehouse Showrooms so far, and I will definitely be going back there for any of my future furniture needs. I highly recommend them...
Read moreMy experience thus far (Currently having visited the showroom twice and making a purchase):
I knew I had wanted some quality furniture that would last as long as I wanted it to - and solid wood. I did some research online and learned everything I could about woods - which to buy, hardness, grains, etc and what types of joinery and craftsmanship you could expect in top-of-the-line furniture. I ended up here after visiting many stores in the area and being (mostly) unimpressed with the quality of the furniture on display, armed with my new knowledge. I eventually ended up in a similar store to Warehouse Showrooms over in Chantilly - and fell in love with a particular set/maker there. The problem was that it was rather expensive for one; and two - even though the quality was high, the woods used in the furniture was Aspen. Most of the high-quality furniture that is built to last is built out of harder woods like cherry, oak, maple, etc - so I decided I would continue looking. As soon as I walked into Warehouse Showrooms - I knew this was where I would be buying my furniture. I walked through the store in a stupor; such quality furniture I had rarely laid eyes upon. I was approached by one of the sales staff about 10 minutes into my search, and he gave some pointers about the quality levels of the furniture: advising that another brand may be even higher quality than the particular dresser I was eye-ing at the time. I eventually made my way over to that section - and it was as he said. The quality of the drawers was fantastic: I could tell that effort and expense had gone into the piece - the drawers were made out of the same solid cherry as the outer piece. I fell in love with a particular set and color almost immediately - and the price was better then the Aspen set I had looked at previously; despite being solid cherry vs a softer wood. I spent a couple hours poring over a couple sets in particular before resolving myself to this particular set - and during that time I was approached by some of the other sales staff that I had previously not spoken to; but they all answered questions and left me to my consideration. Out of the couple hours I was there, I was probably only talking to sales staff for less then 10 - 15 minutes, some of which by my own volition; so I definitely wasn't being dogged. When I expressed interest in a set, one of the particular sales-people told me to sleep on it after I requested a itemized breakdown of the particular items in that set and their prices; so I did. I thought long and hard about buying this set - as it is rather expensive compared to something at a run-of-the-mill furniture store. The prices were near Crate & Barrel - but the quality and build quality was another level. After thinking - I resolved myself to my decision and came back the next day and made the purchase; along with some office furniture because this store is a death-trap of finances and I couldn't help but get dragged into the abyss even further. I was then to pick out the knobs and finishes that the furniture would come in - which was a painless process as I had already pretty much decided what I wanted. After that I presented a deposit on the furniture with the rest to be collected upon receipt of the furniture in good condition.
Thanks again to Warehouse Showrooms for showing patience with my inquiries - I will probably return again to get my dining table. For now though, my bank account...
Read moreI recently visited Warehouse Showrooms with my girlfriend in search of a barstool, and our experience left us deeply disappointed and offended. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by an older gentleman who seemed friendly at first.
When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the available barstools, citing their inadequate height and unaffordable prices, the gentleman made inappropriate and condescending remarks about our age (we are in our 20’s and I have a full face of hair). He questioned our ability to drive and even suggested we should resort to searching for used items on Craigslist. These comments were completely uncalled for and irrelevant to the matter at hand.
Despite our growing frustration, we tried to maintain composure and politely informed him that we could indeed drive. However, his disrespectful behavior persisted. He proceeded to ask if we had finished our homework, further undermining our intelligence and maturity. It was at this point that we had enough and voiced our objection, stating that his comments were rude.
Shockingly, instead of acknowledging his rudeness, the gentleman actually disagreed and claimed he wasn’t being impolite. This only exacerbated the situation, leading to an exchange where he proclaimed that he was trying to learn how to be “more” rude. Such a response from a customer service representative is simply unacceptable and unprofessional.
As we headed towards the exit, the gentleman continued to follow us, attempting to salvage the conversation. However, his attempts were futile, as his initial behavior had already caused distress and soured our entire shopping experience.
Our visit to Warehouse Showrooms was marred by the older gentleman’s offensive comments, lack of respect, and unprofessional conduct. We had hoped for a pleasant and helpful customer service experience, but instead, we were met with ageist remarks and blatant rudeness. Such behavior should never be tolerated, especially in a retail environment where customer satisfaction...
