Picture it, it was Sicily. I made the horrible mistake of placing three orders for my Bae and I. Donāt judge, we were hungry š©. I was looking forward to feasting on my usual Crispy Pork with Chilli Basil, extra sauce, and sticky rice. However, when it arrived to me the pork was floating in a puddle of shame pretending to be extra sauce and accompanied with regular rice. š¤¢š¤®š. I couldnāt believe what I was looking at. I called the restaurant immediately and spoke to the lying manager, Sugar Palm Karen. Sugar Palm Karen was lying through her landline about the conditions of the food. I told her that she was replacing my order and Iāll be there in twenty. She agreed because she knew the vibes. š. I arrived to the restaurant and Sugar Palm Karen caught amnesia and instantly couldnāt remember our conversation. At this point, I was Heated and Hungry! She opened the container and stated, āthe extra sauce is supposed to be water based.ā She was lying through her mask about sauce!!! The pettiness was top tier. I told her to forget replacing the order and give me my refund. I refused to entertain Sugar Palm Karen. ššš¤Ø.

My friend and I went to sit at the bar and when we were ready to order, we were told we had to walk back to the host stand to do so. First red flag. We waited for our food and while waiting, an employee walked out and was entirely rude to us for the rest of our visit. He first asked us why did we get a to go order and sit at the bar. It was during lunch and there were no other customers at the time. Definitely didnāt think it would be a big deal. He rolled his eyes and walked back to the kitchen. The same employee then walks back out and I asked for some additional sauce for the spring rolls I ordered. I offered to pay and he flatly said no and walked away. Honestly had we not paid beforehand, we wouldāve just left. Another couple walked in who was not black and that very same employee had an entirely different attitude towards them. He was welcoming and warm when they walked in. I hate bringing race into it, however Iāve seen a few other reviews from black patrons and it seems to be a pattern. While the food was decent, you can get better Thai food with far superior service for ALL elsewhere. I would NEVER recommend this place....

Upon entering, I was stared at until I announced āIād like to eat here.ā After I was seated it took at least seven min for the waiter to come back to my table even though I was the only one in the restaurant! I started with an appetizer and drink. I ordered the Sugar Plum Sangria⦠horrible! It tasted like straight up vodka ⦠Iām going to finish it though ;). I ordered the shrimp in a blanket⦠the shrimp tastes frost bitten, no flavor at all. Finally I ordered the Tofu Panang⦠the flavor was nice but the consistency of the fried tofu was off, sort of chewy. This place has a TON of potential⦠location, diverse demographics, residential and commercial spaces nearby, layout, etc. but theyāre missing a few key elements to make the experience pleasant.
