I am writing this review because what I experienced at this workplace was not only unethical, but also a serious public health hazard that needs to be exposed. I was terminated after raising legitimate concerns about unsafe and unsanitary conditions — concerns that I have photographic proof of. Instead of addressing these violations, the company fired me without a second thought, as if my voice and my well-being meant absolutely nothing. I reported these conditions respectfully and professionally, with the intention of helping the company maintain a safer, healthier environment. But the moment I spoke up, I was treated like I was disposable — fired on the spot, without care for the fact that I have a child to support and bills to pay. It’s cruel and inhumane, and no worker should ever be punished for standing up for health and safety. The conditions I witnessed in that facility are absolutely unacceptable and should alarm anyone who buys or consumes the products made there. It wasn’t just roaches — though seeing them, including evidence of babies (meaning there are adult infestations somewhere) was bad enough. I also personally witnessed employees using brooms and dusters — the same ones used to clean dirty floors and pants — to pick up food that had fallen to the ground and put it right back on the production line. It gets worse. I have seen stock that had already been in the garbage pulled out and put back into production, as if it was completely normal. Food that touched the ground, instead of being disposed of properly, was picked up and placed back into production for grocery stores and food centers — meaning this contaminated food is ending up in the hands of customers and families who have no idea what they’re eating. Nothing about these practices is up to code, professional, or safe. They are disgusting, unsafe, and unethical. I can’t even fully express the level of horror I felt watching these things happen. No workplace should operate this way, and no employee should fear losing their job simply for speaking up about conditions that put the public at risk. I will be reporting everything I witnessed to the Milwaukee Health Department and providing them with my photographic evidence. Customers have a right to know what is going on, and other employees deserve to work in a clean, safe environment free from fear of retaliation. If you are considering applying here, be cautious. Understand that speaking up about safety issues will not be tolerated by management. If you are a client or consumer, think carefully about supporting a business that knowingly puts profit above basic sanitation and human decency. No human being deserves to be treated this way — not the workers and not the customers. This company must be held accountable for creating a toxic, unsafe environment that endangers everyone it serves.
