I have always loved Menards not only for myself but my business! This last year a window order I placed, had seven windows where the dimensions were somehow put in the opposite way, meaning height was width and width became height! The other windows in my order were fine! When I brought this up to the General Manager of the store Greg, He told me it was my problem and there was nothing he would do about it! After trying to reach out to the corporate office, they asked me to continue to take this up with the manager even after I stated he was unwilling to help me. Eventually I was emailed again by corporate office to contact the manager. You will not get to talk to humans besides the reception when you call corporate or when the manager tells you to file a complaint online! I’m guessing they do this because they don’t want to be bothered. So even trying to talk with a corporate person, is next to impossible! After I contacted the Manger of the Franklin store again, he said if he talked to the window and door manager and they could sell the windows he would get back to me! Greg did return my call saying the other manager would be able to sell them BUT HE WOULD CHARGE ME 50% RESTOCKING FEE. Which they did, because seeing the windows were reversed, I surely couldn’t keep them and cut new openings! This mistake which was entered wrong in the computer was my costly mistake, because as I was told, What’s on paper is correct”! To this day I am more upset at the fact, I have always had great service, enjoyed their stores and products. Between my business and I, there have been months where I spent well over $8000.00, and my parents with their company spend much more than even I! This 50% restocking fee has hurt the way I feel about Menards, also some of my family, friends and clients. Who understand a Restocking fee at $1600.00 is a lot of money! I guess when your a big corporate giant like Menards, who cares if you lose some business! Another fascinating thing I found out, that they have a very negative review with the better business bureau. I just wanted people to know, be careful when ordering. As I don’t, and I’m sure most people don’t have an extra $1600.00 to flush down the toilet! What a shame! I will say now, I have discovered Lowe’s is a very nice store and I will continue to shop there now, except for the few items I can only find Menards. I have figured out that in the amount of time I’ve been disappointed with Menards, Lowe’s has been happy to take the, $ 18,906.56 I would have spent at Menards!...
Read moreVisited 1/14/23 Long story short this was my most memorable visit to a Menards in my life probably also for some of the employees there as well…I came in to buy paint and was treated beyond expectations by both Isaiah and Riley they were attentive, considerate, friendly, and most of all patient with me during the process. What made my visit the most memorable is that after getting my paint and other items I finally reached the checkout only to have my 15% off bag rip causing the paint to spill on the floor (Luckily none got on me) the poor cashier seemed just as surprised as me I think we both stood there in shock for what seemed like an eternity. Soon after that people came to our aid Kendra the manager being one of them she was very helpful and later helped me print out my receipt, I felt horrible making such a mess and had to admit defeat and walk my sorry butt back to the paint department where Isaiah was hard at work mixing paint for a decent line of people, while poor Riley got called to clean up my mess. I waited in silence once again back where I started and feeling like the worst customer ever. Once my turn came I was greeted and treated with even more consideration than the first time and felt less guilty. This time after getting my paint I decided I would carry it by hand I didn’t want to have the mistake happen again lol. As I got closer to the checkout once again I was spotted by another employee who recognized me from earlier stocking some shelf’s (I wish I knew his name) he wondered where my cart had gone and I told him what happened then he replied with “Things can only get better from here” and that put things into perspective I thanked him for his kind words and proceeded to the checkout accident free, paid for my items, and headed to my car. Thank you to everyone that helped me this visit I’ll try not to be such a nuisance the next...
Read moreI purchased 60 sheets of drywall and paid to have it delivered into my home. My contractor took measurements and said the sheets would swing around. When they arrived the driver and delivery company "White gloves transportation" contracted threw Menards...he looked where it was going... he started to bring in the dry wall, and leaned it up against my express brown wall...then he was trying to swing it, and was confused...my nephew showed him how to swing it, and it worked, you can't be at each end...!! Nick continued to bring in drywall, leaning it up against my walls............. rushing like he was in a major hurry... well I have 60 sheets of damaged drywall's, which all need to be cut down!!! The framing is set for full sheets of drywall and 10 of them are completely broken in half hanging on buy the paper... They trashed my home, put holes in my walls, scrapped all my walls...and he pointed out a small 1 inch hole in ceiling? I have almost $4,000.00 in damages...need to paint my hallway, repair all the walls gong down, my bill for hanging and muddying went up, and he doesn't understand?
