Nice bouldering gym. Cool cave section. Steep overhangs in the front. Wide slab wall. There's a Kilter board towards the back. The holds and the walls are brand new so expect to get scraped a few times until you get used to climbing here. Big parking lot just got done in front of the building and there's plenty of parking available. Haven't been there on the weekend after the parking lot has been finished so can't comment on that yet. The auto-belay island could be run better though. It has the same problem as their Nashville location. Some people camp out on an auto belay like they're the only ones who are there to train, even when there's other people waiting to climb. It's as if no one else's time matters. Some times that happens on boulder problems too but that's not common. It would be nice if they would put signs at the bottom of every auto-belay telling people to unclip between each climb so other people can get a turn. Things on the customer service side have been good so far and no one's been "assertive/abrasive" yet. Would recommend the gym except for the auto-belay issue. Will update review if...

This place is small with very few sport routes and only a few auto belays that are mostly low score routes. The boulder area takes up a majority of the space, but the problem sets (or at least the scoring) are a head scratcher. V2-3s are easily sent but the jump in difficulty on V4-5s feel like V6+. Also, the higher scored problems feel very “climbing gym” problems - if you know, you know. Overall, the staff is nice, the place is relatively clean, and it’s convenient. But the other Crag location is bigger, with more sport routes, and, evidently,...
Read moreMaybe I’m biased because the OG Crag in Franklin was where I learned how to climb and eventually worked for, but this iteration of The Crag is one of the best so far. Franklin always deserved a bigger, better gym than the OG location, and I’m so stoked to see this long awaited gym finally come to fruition. The walls are beautiful, holds are sharp, and the setting is still just as fun as ever*. Kim, Ashley, and their entire crew radiate positivity and foster a community in this gym unlike any that I’ve seen so far. Whether you’re an experienced climber or new, you’ll enjoy climbing here.
