I placed a pickup order today (September 6, 2025) for the 5–6pm window. Before arriving, I received a notification that two of my items were not in stock—both of which were tied to a Buy One, Get One Free promotion.
When I arrived, I tried to resolve the issue in person. Customer Service directed me to call the Online Pickup Department. I called the posted number nine times, but no one ever answered—each time my call was redirected back to the main desk. While I was still waiting, a staff member brought my order out. I explained the situation, and he said he would try to pull the items and adjust the invoice, but then called back to say nothing could be done since I had selected “no substitutions.” This didn’t make sense, as the items in question were free due to the coupon offer, so there would have been no price difference.
At that point, I requested to return the entire order. I was told no proof of return could be provided and that I “should” see a credit in a few days. When I asked how I could follow up if no credit appeared, I was given no clear answer.
As a single parent shopping for a child with autism who is very particular about what he drinks, I depend on the convenience and reliability of grocery pickup. The items may have only been a couple of cases of soda and a bag of chips, but the principle matters. The refusal to uphold a valid Giant coupon, the lack of responsiveness, and the unwillingness to provide proof of return all feel extremely unprofessional and unethical. Your allowing your staff members to push you customers into a corner and pretty much we have to take what you give us.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves both communication and accountability for online pickup orders. Families like mine rely on these services, and the experience today left me feeling frustrated, dismissed, and...
Read moreWe shop at the town and country Giant at zip code 22405 and love everything about the store except the deli!!!! They ALWAYS hire the rudest people to work in the deli. First off they act like they don't see you at the counter. Then when they get to the counter they are so rude and act like you asked them to do so much just for one thing of meat!!! I have been coming to this Giant for over 10 years and always the same. One time they had this manager years ago that was friendly and did not act annoyed for you to order something, but she was the only one. I have seen the employees fighting with each other behind the counter because one only wants to do other stuff rather then help customers at the counter!! Just ridiculous how this has gone on for so many years!! I don't know if they need more money or if you just hire people that really hate their jobs but something needs to change!!! I also know that I am not the only one that feels this way because I have met strangers at the counter waiting while I am waiting and we have discussed this. I have also talked with friends of mine and they say the same thing! Maybe you should do quite a few mystery shoppers over there so they can experience it!! ### Have gone there a few times since this review and nothing has been done!! Still just as rude and lazy! I don't understand why you don't have some mystery shoppers go in there a few different times to act like a customer and see...
