Horrible, they put dirty things on the patient's bed. My uncle was sleeping with a poopy pillow with a clean cover!! Disgusting! This place shouldn’t exist.

Be aware… I had removed a previous review as I was told that things would change. Unfortunately communication is still horrible. My mom’s medical care is still being jeopardized. Therefore, I am reposting from 12/19/21. Follow-up and response to my concerns are not very good. Audio /visual virtual communication is restricted. This makes my mom more isolated, negatively affects her cognition, and prevents me from encouraging her virtually. My mom has grandchildren and great grandchildren living in Israel - virtual communication would also expand the frequency of communication. Connectivity with my mom is difficult. Staff informed me they are not responsible for my mom’s cell phone as it is a personal device. (I am asking to charge the phone in the evening and in the morning to turn it on and give it to my mom). I’ve been told by staff that my mom is so busy during the day with activities that her cell phone is not necessary. My mom has missed so much communication with her loved ones due to not having her phone. I have found that my concern as to my mom having a significant weight gain was minimized. I had not been notified of the elastic marks on her stomach from wearing clothing which had become tighter. I had to request a basic CBC blood test which wasn’t given for over a month from the time the dietician noted the significant gain. On 12/23/21 I finally learned the results of a CAT SCAN which clearly demonstrated that the weight gain was not due to a hearty appetite as I kept being told… but rather is attributed to a serious underlying medical issue. And today, 12/31/21, I am still finding the staff not responding and putting up barriers to her receiving a diagnostic test as ordered by her physician.

I had questioned one of my mom’s pulmonary medications. There was no follow up for several days; the doctor discontinued the medication. My mom is a fall risk and self-toilets; she cannot use a call bell. I’ve been told that a toileting plan has been put into place but it doesn’t seem that way. It is also difficult for my mom to be toileted timely when the staff is short. My mom has said that staff doesn’t like to ambulate her as she walks too slowly. Her ambulation and transfer skills have notably declined; a factor from a decrease in her ambulation. I do hope my review will be addressed so my mom can receive better care. My mom is lucky that I am able to advocate for her. Unfortunately this is not the case for so many residents whom also may be...

After sadly watching my 80 year old father constantly shuttle back and forth to the hospital in another facility, we decided to move him here. All I can say is, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The facility is updated, new and very clean. It does not smell like disinfectant or worse, but rather like your home does; quite neutral and pleasant! The staff is friendly and attentive.; everyone greets you, and is smiling!

Standouts are the CNA Evans, who cares for my father, like he is his father, Ben, Director of Concierge Services, who gives us a personalized weekly update on our fathers progress, Azariah at the front desk, who is always smiling, and always knows our names and when we are coming, Mara, who is always happily bring residents for visitation, and always asks about dad, and most importantly, his day to day staff members, who we feel really care about, and for my father. He is always neat and clean, and well cared for. After coming from a facility where hospital visits were almost bi-weekly or monthly due to infection or neglect, by contrast here he has had NONE!

A word about upper management. Coming from an executive level corporate background, it is easy to tell that the attitude of the staff must reflect the attitude of corporate management.

Specifically, the Regional Director of Clinical Services, ANNE DURAN'S level of commitment would make me think that she was an owner! There is no issue too small and no time too late, for me to feel 100 comfortable reaching out; and I know whatever the issue or concern, it will be taken care of posthaste! Often she does not delegate, but chooses to roll her sleeves up and take care of the issue with her own 2 hands! As a business consultant, I can honestly say that I have RARELY have seen this level of commitment, in ANY business, but it is more gratifying when it is in a human services paradigm.

Obviously, this attitude can only come from the top as reflected down the corporate ladder. Congratulations to the ownership and C-Suite staff for instilling, cultivating, and appreciating these values in their employees as their clients do. It makes us feel like family!

Please just keep doing what you do, and I can heartily and wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone in need of...

My wife, Jenia, and I were desperate in seeking help for my mother-in-law, Lidia Egorova (age 88), who tested positive for Covid-19 and other health complications. Lidia very much needed intensive care Rehab upon her discharge from the Hospital When Raquel Schindel, Director of Admissions, reached out to us, she was like a Godsend. Raquel's comforting reassurances eased our anxiousness and provided us much confidence in knowing that there would be a smooth transition from hospital to the Jewish Home. Lidia greatly enjoys the Russian Program along with events and activities offered by the Jewish Home. Her spirits and memory have improved since being there. The private rooms are spacious and comfortable with window views. The facilities and equipment are modern, easily accessible and undergo frequent deep-cleaning When you enter the premises, you can immediately experience a warm, cozy and friendly atmosphere generating throughout the building which makes you feel safe and secure. Our heartfelt thanks go to the entire Staff (at the Jewish Home) which needs to be highly recognized for their professionalism, genuine concerns, gentle and caring treatment and over-all human relationships that they share with their patients and their families. The entire Staff just keeps unselfishly giving dignity and respect to their frailing patients, never ignoring or dismissing any question or request that a patient or family member might have. The Staff always keeps us informed and knowledgeable about Lidia's health care. This Staff includes, but is not limited, to the Medical and Nursing Staff, Clinical, Therapy, Social Services, Housekeeping and Dietary and Food Preparation. From our own personal experience and inter-action with various Jewish Home Staff members, we would like to express our sincere THANKS to Viatcheslav Shmurak (Russian Program Liaison). Lev Simkhayev, M.D. (Medical Staff), Annie Swartz (Nurse Concierge), Jennifer and Samantha from Social Services, Paulette Pandeytes, (Practical Nurse), Lina Murotaliova, C.N.A. and Donna Breese (unit Manager). I would highly recommend The Jewish Home to anyone seeking health care for a loved one. The trust and healthcare that you receive is beyond the standards of professional...
