I saw Dr. Ecker (sp?) yesterday and she was absolutely wonderful. I was in for an ultrasound and told her I had a concern about a different lump I found. She checked me and due to her concern she immediately had the office call my doctor for a script so I could have mammogram. She saw how nervous I was and was incredibly caring and comforting to me. I have never had a doctor, especially one who is not my primary care doctor who has no established relationship with me, be so genuinely supportive and kind. I was truly moved. Luckily, all looks fine but she took the time to look at my scans on the spot, go over everything with me and suggest a biopsy for good measure. Truly concerned and thorough doctors like this are hard to find. She did not have to be so thorough. Due to my age she could have shrugged it off as nothing. But she looked me in the eye and told me she would not ignore this and would get me checked out. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with her. Carla was my tech for an ultrasound, she was stoic but friendly and very professional. I would also like to point out however, the mammogram tech and another tech with dark hair were not as kind or professional. I heard them complaining about me that they were waiting for my script. It was the end of the day so I think they were itching to get out. As I was waiting outside the room I heard the mammo tech complain she was waiting and the other tech respond saying, “ oh well, no script, too bad!” No one was asking for me to get a mammo without a script. I certainly wasn’t anticipating this very scary event to happen to me that day. I understand it’s the end of the day and they were tired but at least be discreet. They knew I was sitting there. This was very unprofessional. I was sitting there thinking there might be something seriously wrong with me. Meanwhile, I also had to get home to my tiny baby. They aren’t the only ones who had to get home. When the script finally came the mammo tech came and exclaimed while rolling her eyes, “Your script finally came!” She was nice enough while doing the procedure but I did not appreciate the comments I heard or the eye roll. Your job is to help people, you know human beings with lives and families, and check them during a scary and stressful time. No one wants to be in the position I was in. It’s fine to be annoyed and want to go home at the end of the day, but be considerate enough to not complain about your patients right in front of them! I wonder how many people she has done this to who sadly ended up getting bad news after their mammo. I was lucky to walk away with good news and thank Dr. Ecker for her...
Read moreStaff is great but I give them two stars for medical billing I went for a chest X-ray May 29 it wasn’t normal. Went back back for a ct scan June 3 as my pulmonary doctor insisted since I have a long history of lung nodules . I called my pulmonologist for results on Thursday the lady at my doctors office said she never got a fax . I called University Radiology and their medical records said they faxed it . I have the disc but not the report . My doctors office was closed Friday so I had gotten no call back meanwhile I went in full blown asthma attack . I asked them on Friday why isn’t it on my portal ? Answer was snotty we don’t upload CT scans until five days seriously ??? There is a suspicious finding because I had it sent to my primary care doctor and my cardiologist who couldn’t understand why I don’t have it when I have the disc . The report is done I even asked to pick it up they said no . I am going to pursue this further especially if they are going to recommend further work up needs to be done . Scary place I’ve been going there for many years. Will not go back .Im sitting here all weekend waiting for the portal to upload so I can see another doctor on Monday. Suspicious findings that recommend Pet scan and Bronchoscopy should be called in or sent immediately with a flag to doctor . As a nurse That’s what we do . I’m disappointed in the medical records people and their tone of voice. The staff is great though sad that I have to downgrade a rating for medical records but time is of essence with my lungs and yes my pulmonary doctor is at fault as well however as the radiologist accountability falls...
Read moreHad a few mammograms and ultrasounds at University Radiology in the past. Last one was done at axia women’s breast center in East Brunswick in 2021. Today I was scheduled for a screening mammogram in Freehold, technician stated she was unable to do the routine exam since she didn’t have the report from my last mammogram stating I didn’t need to come back in 6 months for follow up. Technician seemed very stressed out, more concerned about falling behind, she called my present gyn office for the record and not Axia in East Brunswick for the report. She was gone before I knew what happened. Drove to East Brunswick got the report within minutes and then drove to University Radiology to get my mammogram and breast ultrasound reports as I have no desire to continue with them for women’s health matters. I have dealt with their East Brunswick, Tinton Falls, as well as New Brunswick offices in the past. As someone who works in healthcare, goes the extra mile for patients, find this experience to be extremely negative. The technician seemed harried and overwhelmed. Happy to say that I’m scheduled already where I originally started out some 20 years ago but had to leave for insurance purposes. They still have my records, when asked if I would be turned away if I didn’t obtain records from elsewhere was told no, they prefer if I could but will not...
