Can someone explain why I have to press a button for English to use my debit card here? I don't recall having to do this anywhere else besides Walgreens, and they got an earful from me too. Why are we forced to go through additional hassles to accommodate aliens? Legal, or otherwise? Unless a business is primarily tourist based, and the last time I checked, the Frenchtown Kroger is not, then our national language should be the assumed, and default language to perform such commonplace tasks. I don't think it would have bothered me nearly as much if either of the 2 choices were French, as might be deduced from the location of this particular store. But since Frenchtown Township, Michigan is so very far away from ANY Spanish speaking country, the only reason, other than Kroger's overt greed, and clear lack of patriotism, to make American citizens choose between our nation's written language, and Spanish is to accommodate those here without the desire, or dedication to learn the national language.
This review however, is not based solely on my frustration with Kroger's America without borders policy. While here for this visit, I spoke with about ten different employees, about half of them were pleasant and helpful, the other half would clearly, and obviously rather be doing anything else...
Read moreI stopped in at this Kroger yesterday to use the coinstar and grab some milk. I'm usually not in Monroe but was making a purchase off FB marketplace and needed to shop anyway so I saved a trip to my usual Kroger in Toledo, OH. After using the coinstar I had to wait for customer service to turn in my voucher and a cashier called me to her lane to assist me rather than me having to wait longer. I was also there with my daughter and son, one a toddler one a baby. A worker came up and he gave them both a couple stickers and offered them balloons as well. Both of my kids loved the balloons and I was very gracious. Then I asked him where milk was located in this Kroger because it was a different set up than I'm used to. He pointed the direction of it but then offered to go grab me a gallon if I'd like! I accepted the offer and it was a great gesture I definitely didn't expect. I really wish I had caught his name to send a formal compliment. All of the staff I encountered here though were so friendly, much different from the staff at my usual Kroger locations I go to in Toledo, OH and Lambertville, MI. Thank you for a great experience for both me...
Read moreWent to this store for the first time. It looks like an old Food Town that closed down and was turned into a Kroger. I enjoyed walking through the bakery and sushi area. Was surprised I could not find any grapefruit, but it might not be in season. I was looking for a Little Debbie's item that was supposed to be on sale, but it looks like they were not in stock yet. It was fun to browse the markdown items that are scattered around the store. Produce section has a nice flooring and display. They markdown fruits too if they are going bad. Store was clean, but the tiles in the aisles and checkout area needs to be updated. Like I said, this store was probably an old Food Town. Had a little trouble at the self checkout (my fault), and the worker helped me out. When finished, her and another worker wished me a good day on the way out. Parking lot does feel small. Be careful driving, some people do not pay attention. I would visit this...
