I first tried calling to book an appointment and was asked to āhold for a second.ā About 4 minutes later I figured I was forgotten about so I hung up and decided to try booking online. I thought this was a pretty cool feature so I booked a barber at my desired time. I arrived 10 minutes early and checked in. About 5 minutes after my appointment the guy at the counter told my barber that he was supposed to cut my hair, and not the guy who sat in his chair. He then asked me if I wanted to wait, or if someone else could cut my hair. I said, āSure if youāve got someone else available Iāll go with someone else. I donāt want to mess up everyone elseās appointment.ā So I got another guy and he seemed rather disinterested in cutting my hair. He was talking more to the barber at the chair next to him and I noticed him not even looking at my head while he was using his clippers. At one point he mentioned that heās still in barbers school (maybe a joke Iām not sure, but by the job he did itās believable.) When he was finished I looked in the mirror and wasnāt thrilled with the job he did. But at first glance wasnāt so bad that Iād complain. When I got home I told my wife that I wished my usual barber could have fit me in before my cousinās wedding. I brushed my hand through my head to show her my haircut and I noticed that the barber totally missed cutting large parts of the right side of my head. So I got back in my car and headed back to tell them I needed someone to fix my hair. I showed the guy at the counter (maybe the manager) that the barber missed a huge section of my head. He apologized and said they will have someone fix it for me and there would not be a charge to fix and he would refund my original haircut (which is the only reason I didnāt give 1 star.) I waited a couple minutes while another lady finished up with someone. She took a look at my hair and said that yes she was going to have to fix it. She did a great job, and Iām very happy with how she cut my hair. If I had I gotten her the first time I would definitely go back, but with the inconsistency from barber to barber I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been cutting my own hair with just a basic buzz and edge since about 15 or 16 yrs of age. I moved from Richardson/ Dallas area, my good friend that gave me the best fades around while he started his barber career. He now has his own well respected shop which i can't say i was surprised when i found out because the pride in his work spoke for itself. I was along with many on "i don't just want anyone to touch my head" when it comes to cuts as youngling. Irony of life is now my stepson is the same way š
I've been going to Local Barber Co. since i moved out this way in June of last year. I'm a lot more easy going now that I've aged so I've been getting hair cuts at this location by an assortment of the staff now that i wanted a little different style. I still somewhat hold that same standard and eye for detail when it comes to style vs cemetery due to my understanding of cosmetology and experiences through my best friend who went to Tony & Guy and has had her own successful clientele with her brand. They do have a decent crew. Took a while to settle on one as I have been decently particular in cutting my own hair as well for the last 20 yrs.
The one who has stood out the most has been Erica for sure! My stepson actually had been cut by her before me. Understanding of his picky ways, his own passion of barber concepts and seeing that he did actually like it (as enthusiastic as a teenage boy gets š) i chose to book with Erica yesterday. I normally get a cut and a beard trim when i go in. Noticing her attention to detail, the way she attentively listens to her clients preferences/expectations (met my expectations in my experience), her stylish suggestions when asked about a detail you may be on the fritz about, her hospitable home feel in the chair, the overall experience with her and the very much respected pride you can see she holds in her work in having you leave with what you'll love on your head has stood out most. Now that I'm more than in content with settling, i am definitely happy with calling her my new norm barber now! š
P.S. Yes detail is very much a huge part of my...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei came in for my haircut and showed the barber (i don't remember what his name was) what type of haircut i wanted on my phone. he looked at my phone, nodded, and started cutting my hair. a few snips later, he said "alright buddy you're all set" when my hair looked absolutely nothing like what i showed to him.
i pull out my phone and show him what i want again, and he rudely rolls his eyes and says "well you should've told me that you wanted this before! now i'm doing two haircuts in one!" and continues muttering to himself... i did tell him exactly what i wanted and even showed him a picture before the haircut started!! he took his equipment back out and started cutting away and doing literally whatever he wanted AGAIN. i was trying to ask him questions about my hair and what exactly he's doing because at this point he was taking everything off my head. he didn't even respond to me... he completely ignored me.
after the horrendous haircut, i look at him and i see an airpod in his right ear and realized that was probably why there was such a big misunderstanding... BECAUSE HE WASNT EVEN LISTENING?? i looked/look terrible.
it's been almost 4 weeks and my hair still looks disgusting from every angle. i've been extremely self conscious about my hair ever since, and it's an extremely draining feeling. this is genuinely the worst haircut i have ever received in my entire life. i gave myself a better haircut during quarantine.
they probably give great haircuts, but due to this first impression and experience, i am never returning here ever again. please have your barbers to keep their ears open, instead of disregarding everything the customer says and then blaming the mistake on...
