Hoping this review will get the attention of the owner, Anna, who will not respond to our emails or phone messages. You owe us $205 that you charged our credit card for classes that we never officially signed up for or attended in February. This $205 includes a kidfit class that was on a waitlist and we couldnât attend and 2 of the same preschool classesâI only have 1 preschool age child. Making someone enter a credit card to sign up for a trial is one thing but never scheduling the trial with the family then charging them like theyâre in the class is not okay.
I hope this is a mistake and an oversight because youâre busy teaching. I do plan to remove this review once we can get this settled but I canât seem to reach you on phone or by email.
I sent Anna this message on 1/24/24: Thank you, I am registering them this morning. We may need to give a 30 day notice at our current gym. Will someone be in touch once I submit registration? There is a spot in tumble for my oldest that she could do until there is an opening in Kidfit. Thank you for your help!
Anna responded on 1/29 (I hadnât heard back from her so I registered for a trial, thinking we could pick the day)
âHi Kathryn,
I see you registered for a few things. It looks like you signed Lainey up for 2 different classes, and then Ivy'Kate for Tumbling? There is no need for Lainey to trial both classes, the instructors are the same and will make sure she is in the correct level. Do you prefer 4:30 or 6:30?
All of your trials are active since none of those classes have waitlists, so your trials are this Wednesday. Is that ok? If you want to do trials and then postpone enrollment to allow for a 30 day notice at your current gym, that is ok, just be sure to let us know so we don't overcharge you.
Thanks! Performance Gymâ
I did not respond because this email was in my junk mail. I then had a charge for $205 on our credit card (you had to give number to sign up for trial but no where did it state youâd be charged immediatelyâ the trial is free). I reached out to question the charges which were for 3 classesâ one for my older child and 2 of the same class for my younger.
2/24/24 I wrote, âHello!
This email was in my junk folder. And as I was reconciling my checkbook I realized you all charged us for the month of February for / classes for my 5 year old and one class for my 7 year old. Iâll forward the receipt in a moment. We need a refund asap!
We had to give a 30 day at our other gym so we have not been available for a trial. Iâm upset/confused how we could have been charged $205 and weâve not even been to the gym or had our trial class.
Iâm looking forward to getting this straightened out. We are still interested in class but this is not the best first impression. đâ
No response from Performance so my husband called on 3/12, spoke to Debbie who said she would ask Anna about refund and I followed up with an email. Nothing, so I emailed on 3/14 again. Debbie responded on 3/15 saying sheâd give this to Anna that day. Here we are on 4/6/24 and I do not have $205 and our family has never stepped foot in the gym. Iâve filed a claim with our bank but I sure wish Anna would reach out and make this...
Read moreIf I could give 0 or negative stars, I certainly would. Rude . . . rude . . . rude -- that's what I can say about the owner. I sent my kids to track out camp at this establishment. First off, it is NOT a gymnastics camp which is certainly how she portrays the camp to be on her website. No, it does not say gymnastics camp, but it has kids in gymnastics attire on the pictures of the track out camp leading you to believe it is gymnastics based. My kids came home to tell me 1) they could not play the board games because they had missing pieces, 2) they sat and watched movies daily, 3) they were not instructed AT ALL in gymnastics or how to use the gym equipment, 4) they were supposed to play games but the teachers did not motivate all students to participate which made playing games less interesting, 5) the teacher showed tons of favoritism to kids she knew. My kids have been year round for 6 years and we have attended lots of different track out camps to get different experiences. This one is the first that I have been compelled to write about. What a complete waste of time and money! Now on to communication -- I should have known to NOT take my kids there when I was unable to get in touch with anyone over the phone or via e-mail. After three different e-mails were sent and I had called and left several messages, I finally got a short e-mail telling me "they" would call me later that day -- they NEVER called. I sent my husband in to speak with someone and check out the place because I could not get anyone on the phone. He said it looked fine (our ideas of fine are entirely different). Response by e-mail is non-existent and returned calls do not happen. I suppose since my kids were only going to attend track out camp we were not worthy of a phone call. UGH!! After the camp was over, I tried to get a receipt with the business tax ID number so I could get reimbursed by my flexible spending account. I tried calling and got NO return phone calls. I sent an e-mail . . . no response. A month later I sent a second e-mail . . . no response. I then drove to the establishment to get a receipt and the owner told me to "just print it and write down the TAX ID". How hard would it have been for her to send me an e-mail with the tax ID in it and tell me to print it out and write it down . . . no, she has no respect for her patrons. How was I supposed to know the tax ID since she NEVER called back nor responded to an e-mail. It was not that easy! I then asked that she print out the receipt and write it on the receipt herself while I was standing there. You would have thought I was asking her to give up a lung. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I cannot say whether or not she can do anything in the gymnastics field because she clearly didn't teach gymnastics during the week long track out camp. However, she is rude and does not...
Read moreEdited to add they just charged me again. Another month. SO I guess this facility is okay if you never plan to cancel. If you do cancel? Expect to keep paying. Nice facility. But be aware they are signing you up for recurring automatic draft when you think you are just paying for one month. When I asked for a refund, because our schedule changed and they no longer offer a class on Thursdays that would we could switch to (as I was told when we started) they said they require a 30 day cancellation notice. Which is bizarre. Theyâre basically asking you to always pay an extra month, since they charge monthly. So I just paid them $75 Iâll never get back.
I also felt they didnât handle older beginners well at all. I watched my 12 year old daughter who can do arials and handsprings being run through the barest of basics for an hour. When I asked about an evaluation to move her up the front desk was like âjust ask her coachesâ I turn around to see a gaggle of teens without an adult in sight. Theyâre giggling and gossiping and my daughter freaked out at the idea that we would walk up to this group and ask them to evaluate her. So we left, hoping the next week would provide an opportunity to interact with an adult. It didn't. My nephew at 15 spent more than half of the paid lesson stretching. I understand that stretching is important. But to spend more than 30 minutes on it? Then the âcoachesâ basically walked away and let them do whatever they wanted. Honestly disappointed. If you arenât part of their competitive team- which means doing gymnastics from a super young age, then they arenât taking great strides to teach you. Which is sad. Because my daughter and nephew really...
