Our experience at VanDrie in Traverse City was amazing. Alice was our consultant and managed the shopping experience and delivery details perfectly. She is an excellent representative for this establishment. I especially appreciated her ability to facilitate uninterrupted meanderings throughout the store which allows for personal reflection and consideration. She was personable and professional as well as nonintrusive. The furniture purchased is beautiful, well constructed, and no doubt will last for a significantly long time. Our first delivery and installment was also flawless. The delivery men were polite, handled the furniture and environment of our home with care and a great attitude. They also represented this company well. The second installment was quit different, these two delivery men acted like they resented the inconvenience of delivering furniture. They used foul language cursing the furniture and complained loudly to each other. It was a complete reversal of our prior experience. My husband and I were stunned by their nonprofessional attitudes. I regret not noting their names. Read moreAlthough Cody was sympathetic to our complaints on our new La-Z-Boy leather couch and recliner purchase, we only had it a 3-4 mths they would only refund 70% of the money we paid saying that La-Z-Boy wouldn’t do anything - We did our purchase thru VanDrie so seems they should stand by the product they are selling.
I will never buy another leather la-z-boy recliner or couch - it’s absolute junk - after less than 3 mths the color was already fading - headrests, arms etc. be very careful as it’s not dyed all the way thru so any small infraction will cause a mark. VanDrie had to replace both the couch and recliner upon delivery as it was so marked up - I assumed they just messed up the delivery but now know why as the quality is so poor.
I opened a ticket with La-Z boy and although it’s warranted for a year - they would not do anything.

Within a couple months the stitching started coming out of the cushion, so called to get it replaced, emailed pictures and was told it would be 3-4 weeks. 3 months later still no cushion now with a gaping hole and foam sticking out. I'm told its on back order and they'll have it shipped ASAP be here in 1-2 weeks. Still no cushion so my wife calls and talks to the warranty girl (who must only work part time as she's only been in the office half the time we call) and is told they've ordered new cushions and covers for the entire couch. At least another month later guy shows up with cushion cover that obviously doesn't fit the cushion. When questioned about just the cover guy looked at work order and was like yea there are supposed to be cushions.... so even with the extra "premium" warranty we just keep getting shafted. Definitely not spending another dime with vandrie and I'd recommend anyone else...
