Long story short, the customer service was absolutely horrendous but the camper top is nice.
We ordered a leer 100XR for my Tacoma and Chris said it would be 2 to 3 weeks and it wouldn't take long to install when it came in. 3 weeks went by and I heard nothing. So I called the store and Chris answered. He said there was a shipment coming in of tops in 2 days and he would call me back after they came in to give me an update. Of course, 3 days went by and I heard nothing. I called again and Chris said it hadn't come in and it could be up to 2 more weeks. Guess what happened next! 3 more weeks went by and I had to call them again to get an update. Still nothing! A week later I was getting ready to call them up and cancel it all-together and go to another store to order the same camper just because of the terrible customer service. BUT, Chris called and said it had finally come in. TWO MONTHS after I ordered it, after being told 2 to 3 weeks, with zero updates and having to call them to tell me whats going on, I was understandably getting tired of dealing with the unprofessional people at this location. The day of install was a 4 day from work and Chris "graciously" had time to install it that day after having no openings anytime on Friday or the weekend. My wife and 10 month old and I drove 2 vehicles up there with the intent of dropping the truck off and spending a few hours in Raleigh (a few hours is how long Chris said the install would take, oh how dumb I was for believing that) and then returning to pick it up later. Of course we needed both vehicles for work the next day so leaving it there wasn't an option. So after 4 HOURS of spending time in Raleigh and waiting around, I had to call THEM to see what the heck was going on. Eventually after talking to someone who was in a hurry to get me off the phone and didn't have any updates I get on the phone with Chris and he says the forklift is broken and the welder is on the way now to fix it. "Shouldn't be anymore than an hour." Guess what. 2 more hours passes by and I had to CALL THEM AGAIN. It this point the welder still wasn't there and we decided to take the 1.5 hour trip back home instead of listening to our child crying about being in the car seat one more second. So we headed back home with the intent of coming back to the store right before they closed in the hopes it would be good to go. After getting home and the heading back up to the store as planned, Chris finally calls me and tells me it's ready. At this point it's 1720 and I wouldn't have had time to get back to the store before they closed that day unless I had planned to do it. We get back to the store and Chris is trying to make small talk and be really nice until after I paid the remaining balance on the top and then after that the attitude was "It's time to close I can't be bothered." He gives me a small roll of putty used to seal up the truck bed in places that usually leak and says some people don't like to seal up the bed so usually he doesn't do it himself. My question is: after paying 2k for a truck top intended to keep out the elements why the hell wouldn't someone want it sealed up by the guy installing it? So i ended up caulking it up myself later and fixing the terrible job Chris did adjusting the brackets that are designed to keep the glass window closed because it wouldn't even shut. The product is great, only after I got the brackets adjusted and the corners caulked up. The customer service here was absolutely ridiculous. The fact that I had to call them at least a dozen times to get updates instead of them giving me a courtesy call ever few weeks is completely stupid considering how much you pay for their product. Then when stuff went wrong with the install, which obviously wasn't Leonard's fault, they didn't even call to tell us it was going to take an additional 5 freaking hours to finish up. I will never recommend this location to anyone and can sparsely say that I would recommend Leer products if they're only sold at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT AFTER TWO YEARS, this trailer is absolute junk. All the wire mesh is popping off. They tack weld it every 3rd or 4th one when they should tack them all. They use the thinest mesh made. The mesh on the gate is way thicker. I had to add tie downs because they give you no where to tie anything down. I had to move the spare tire because they mounted it so the jack hits it. Speaking of the jack itās a light duty piece of junk. Itās already bent. Iāve had to rewire the entire trailer because of those plastic clips. They finally got water in them and corroded. So if you want a trailer you have to work on 1-2 times a month go with these people. I need the decked system and a 5x8 trailer. I was going to go back to them but not after this experience. Iāve never paid $3000 for such a hunk of junk in my life. The Leonard signs didnāt even stay on they flew off down the highway somewhere which Iām kind of happy about because Iām embarrassed to say I bought this trailer from them. Iām going to tractor supply. I just went and looked at theirs. All the boards are straight and even gapped, the wiring is soldered and heat shrunk. I canāt get the Decked system from them but I will get it from someone else. Thereās NOTHING good about this trailer except the axel and tongue. Iām sure they wonāt last much longer either. I grease the hubs as I should. I maintain it snd it still just falls apart.
Just picked up my 6 1/2ā x 12ā utility trailer. I got a call a day after I applied from Shelly. She had me on and off the phone in 10 mins. Called me back told me I was approved. She reminded me that I should get the spare tire since itās a single axle which was genius because I never thought about it. If you need ANYTHING that they sell you call her and go through her! I donāt care if she has you on hold 5-10 mins sheās there alone most times and works her tail off. Itās WELL worth the wait! She said it would take a week or two to get the trailer in. Had it to me in 6 days. That may vary depending what you get but I couldnāt ask for a better experience. She had everything ready to go when I came In to sign the contract and she had it all ready when I came to pick it up. I will never go through anyone else to get anything they carry. Thatās how impressed I was with the entire experience and top notch customer service!! That guy complaining a couple reviews below mine couldnāt be more wrong. Donāt even give it a second thought. Call her or apply on their website and you will leave a happy customer. Shelly gets 5 stars.
I had some issues and Chad called me and got them taken care of. He went above and beyond for me. I really do love these people they really do have the best customer service. I didnāt like the boards. Iām a master carpenter and Iām picky. I didnāt like the gaps and crowns. He agreed that he wouldnāt be able to make it look as good as I would want so he made it right. Iām not going to say how but he made me happy. Thatās all I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to beginā¦. So I started my trailer search and emailed and called many different companies and locations during my search. When I called this specific location and spoke with the manager Shelly, I knew this was the place that was going to earn my money. Shelly and Dustin both provided excellent customer service and when I say with a smile, I mean with a smile and laughter.
Once you start dealing with them you feel like youāve known them for life and you can tell that they are very trustworthy. I even had an appointment at a different facility from a different company but after speaking with Shelly and then going down to location I immediately decided to purchase there and canceled my appointment with the other company.
Shelly is so organized and helpful she filled out all the paperwork all I had to do was walk into the DMV head on the papers and swipe my card. Iāve never had service so good like she provided she took care of everything and gave me extra copies for my own files in case anything ever goes wrong (like DMV loses paperwork or something outside our control).
Between her and Dustin they made sure I had everything I needed to safely drive away with the trailer and even scheduled a follow up appointment to install some accessories that we decided I needed. Whatās impressed me about Dustin is when I came back a few weeks later to get my accessories installed he asked how everything was going with the trailer and then he asked how far Iāve driven it and he retort the Lugnuts for me and explain to me about the next mileage that needed to be done just to make sure everything is going proper with a trailer.
They actually make you feel comfortable like you walked into a place and theyāre all your old friends and are very willing to help immediately. There is no sales pressure, or anything else involved with feeling like youāre at a place trying to sell you something. Iām very glad I went here and I found this place. Anything else that I will ever need in my future that they carry I will definitely go there even if it is...
