Gaston Family Pharmacy — Local services in Gaston

I decided to change my pharmacy to start going here . from having to go all the way to Walgreens .I am disabled and it's getting more and more difficult to go long distances . I have lived in Gaston for 35 years . I was told they could not fill my pain medication again.. because I do not have other prescriptions with them .. they did fill it this one time , but told me they would not fill it again until I had more prescriptions on file with them .. now here's the thing, I have been with Walgreens or CVS forever and a simple phone call from Gaston pharmacy to verify that or a call to my doctor to verify I NEED this medication , again, I needed something closer to home .. to me what does it matter as long as I have a valid prescription?? Gaston pharmacy was considerably higher on price than Walgreens but to be closer to home was worth it to me . But because of this , I decided to stay with Walgreens because that's where I have been going for years, decades even . But apparently being a long term resident and trying to give back to the community in which I live by supporting local business , doesn't seem to matter much .. I'm very...

Very Rude and condescending to customers when the pharmacy makes a mistake and apparently cannot count to boot. Miscounted a controlled substance prescription and then tried to deny such. Our business is definitely going elsewhere. We always try to support local small businesses versus the big chains but all of our pharmaceutical needs will go back to town to CVS, at least they can get the prescriptions and refills RIGHT! This business needs to take a serious look at the quality of employees they hire, there are a couple of good ones but some of the young people working in this location need to go before they run this business into the ground. They have no GM for this location and when asked contact info for the owner of the company, they tell you the only way to contact him is to call the pharmacy and they will transfer you over to his voicemail and there is no business address that you...

Gaston Pharmacy is a fantastic pharmacy. The individuals are extraordinarily friendly, knowledgeable, considerate, kind and unlike the big name corporate ‘national chain’ pharmacies, they take the time to learn your name & are always very welcoming each time you walk in the door. Regarding the 2 things people care about most in terms of their pharmacy, Gaston Pharmacy seems to be [1] less expensive than other pharmacies and [2] they are unbelievably efficient/fast when it comes to filling your prescriptions – on average (in terms of my experiences), upon dropping off a new batch of prescriptions, they consistently manage to have all of them filled & ready to go in approximately 5 minutes (no, that’s not an exaggeration).

I HIGHLY recommend this pharmacy for each of the various reasons I listed above & more – 5 stars...
