Meyer Ace Hardware — Local services in Gaylord

Shout out to Justin at Meyer Ace Hardware for providing above and beyond customer service. This past Saturday, my wife and I went to Ace to initally purchase a second shovel to prepare for what turned out to be a record breaking 24-hour snowfall in Gaylord. We decided to look at the snowblowers and was considering an electric model for our place in Gaylord. Justin came over and explained the various snowblower options. Based on the info he gave us, we decided to purchase a gas powered Husqvarna snowblower.

Since we were hearing reports of very heavy snow over the next day, we needed the snowblower right away. Justin told us we could purchase the floor model that was already assembled. Ace offered free delivery, but the earliest they could have it delivered was on Tuesday. We needed it now. We were concerned about the snowblower fitting into our vehicle, but we decided to give it a try. Justin and another employee helped us put it into the back of our SUV. Well as it turned out, it wouldn't fit, even after collapsing the handle.

Justin, knowing that we needed it right away, said "you know what, I'm getting ready to clock out for the day, I'll just deliver it to your place in my own truck". What an amazing gesture! He and the other employee put it in the back of his pickup truck and Justin delivered it to our place on his own time, in his own vehicle.

Justin and the other helpful staff at Meyer Ace Hardware are why we always try to support local businesses. The big box stores just can't compete when it comes to helpful customer service. ...

I just had a really bad experience with Rob at the Meyer Ace hardware, I asked him a simple question about how they fill their propane, because they don't weigh it before they fill it, only after, so how do they KNOW how much they put in and they're charging you for? He kept trying to give me money off, but I was just wondering how they do it, and he flew off the handle. and I was yelled at and told to go somewhere else and threatened. I'm just taken back right now, that was very unprofessional and really childish, if you can't answer one question without losing it, maybe you shouldn't have that job? while I was speaking to the manager he stood there antagonizing me and my wife and walking by making comments, and then suggesting calling the cops on me, I mean just so unprofessional. I asked a simple question because I had never seen it done that way before, and he totally took...

Very disgusted! A customer left his dog in his car in 90 degree weather, i kept checking on her because she had no water and sun coming through the windshield when I went in and complained to the manager she said she'd ask around, about 5 minutes later a man came out locked his door and went back inside! I had been sitting there 20 minutes so I called animal control who said they would cone right out , finally after 34 minutes the "customer" come out with the manager laughing and proceeded to stand at the van for another few minutes chatting!
