Bordineβs is a really nice place for common ornamental plants and outdoor gardening. I do however find it kind of disappointing they use so much more space for exterior decorating and kitsch than actual horticultural needs (especially indoor) I collect orchids and the last three times I went there they have always had a collection of poorly cared for phalaenopsis orchids but you would be remiss to believe that you can find anything to do with taking care of them. They donβt carry sphagnum moss or at least the employee had no idea what I was talking about. They donβt even carry cheap miracle gro orchid mix, spray bottles, or houseplant fertilizers. All the potting soil and mediums are in bulk for massive outdoor gardens. This is definitely a place to go for getting decorations and lawn ornaments not actual horticultural needs. Youβd find more selection of that at your...
Β Β Β Read moreI'm giving them 1 star because I didn't have an option to go lower. We purchased a 12 ft. Pre lit tree. It only lasted one year. We tried to get it replaced on year two but no dice. We did get an apology though. Sorry about that. Year 3 we called and did get someone to work with National Christmas Tree company to replace the tree. The problem is they didn't send us what we had. Instead we received an 8 ft tree. The lights were hanging off the branches as if only drapped around the tree. The tree lacks the fullness of a $1000 plus tree like we purchased. This thing makes Charlie Brown's tree look stellar. Stay away from Bordines and National Christmas tree company. Once you leave you're stuck with garbage they sell and you'll have little to no recourse. I can't believe this replacement, just about everything at walmart looks better than this thing. Shop at...
Β Β Β Read moreI love going to Bordines and have been for years. The reason for the 3 star review is for the lack of labeling veggie and fruit plants correctly. This past spring we bought cucumber and a watermelon plant. The cucumber was supposed to be English (seedless) cucumbers and they were not. They were the common variety with huge seeds. The watermelon turned out to be a cantalope. And we didn't know until today when we cut into it. We had an inkling a few weeks ago, but thought maybe it would end up being a watermelon. And I know what you are thinking, we should have checked the pots and where we picked the plants from. The tags are not descriptive and we picked them out from the English cucumber and the watermelon section. Please next year improve your veggie and fruit labeling system to prevent this from happening to...
