We understand the severity of the pandemic that we are currently in the middle of, but my husband and I have never been so upset with how poorly we were treated today by the employees as well as other members at this location especially since this was our first time at this club specifically.
While we were working out with our masks ON and social distancing, if you work out, you know you eventually start breathing heavy and sometimes the mask slips below your nose. My husband had an employee come over FOUR different times and each time he came up with different excuses of what my husband was doing wrong.
Having the mask fall below his nose, DURING his workout once, then the next 3 times he came to tell us he wasn’t allowed to have a bag next to him while working out (which we didn’t know since we have been to many other locations). We then had an older gentleman who was a member of the club YELL at us we need to leave the gym and get another membership, which then the employee said we need to listen to the member and we were being disrespectful when the older gentleman was the first to harass us. Then the employee continued to tell us he was going to call the cops and cancel our membership when we were wearing our masks the ENTIRE time and had done nothing wrong.
Then before we left, my husband went to talk to the employee who had come and interrupted our workout 4 different times to apologize and mend the contention. When we asked when the cops would be here he said soon, then right before we left he said he never called them. As my husband was talking to that employee, another member of the club who entered the gym jumped in the conversation and started saying to the employees, “do you need me to fix this!? I will call the cops”, while that customer had his mask below his nose.
We are VERY upset and disappointed with how this location treated us. What happened to a “JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE”, while other members of the club telling us we need to leave, employees lying to us about cops and a cancellation of our membership? We are amazed at how I think they forget we are people and we can’t be perfect...
Read moreI love Planet Fitness and this particular gym. I tried canceling my to have auto payments stop because I got covid in January 2022. Then after six weeks of isolation, I ended up with “long covid” and was quite sick until May. I called to cancel in the midst of my misery but no, I was told I have to come into the club! I wasn’t able to do this and let the payments continue to be withdrawn out of my account because I simply didn’t know if I could manage getting to the facility. I then had to move across town to south Phoenix, far, far away from my “home club” because of a family emergency and haven’t been in the gym since. My payments are still being taken out of my account. That’s a lot of money in the last eight months!!! I’m planning to leave the country in October and decided to finally try canceling again. I called my home gym tonight and the guy who answered the phone could only say “I can’t” then I asked what CAN you do? This poor guy didn’t seemed trained to even answer my simplest questions which were few. Please train your people customer service for over the phone! I pressed him further as to what I CAN do and he said to send an email to “the club”. I said I’d prefer to send it to a manager, not “the club”. He said I had to provide a photo of my ID and an email stating I wanted to cancel and to send it to “the club” email address. Well, I’m not convinced. Especially after Googling how to cancel Planet Fitness and saw I’m supposed to send a certified letter to the home office!? I wish this could be simple but it hasn’t been. I don’t have a clue what to do and I’m NOT sending a photo of my identification to “the club” until I understand what exactly needs to...
Read moreI'm on a quest to try as many PF locations as I can, and I can safely say that this location is my least favorite PF location in the valley. Like, I'd go out of my way to NOT go here, which is sad because it's small and I generally prefer smaller locations (forces the layouts so make sense!). It's uncomfortably warm and no real air circulation happening. The layout is actually really weird and I actually felt pretty uncomfortable here. Way too many people (crowd meter showed 1 bar) and mirrors so these sweaty dudes just stare at you really no matter where you are. The bathrooms are pretty hidden and tucked closely to a bank of cardio machines so you KNOW they know how long you've been in there and they're questioning it! haha The rest of the machines aren't really grouped together in a way that makes sense to me. Again, I felt pretty stared at so maybe I was just preoccupied with getting out of there so I didn't take the time to think about it. All in all, it's a no from me. Also AZ Ave/202 is another no. Just no. Broken machines, duct tape, peeling...
