This place has three levels of camping, RVs with electricity. Level. One is full hookups with a 50 amp circuit, Level Two is a 50 amp hookup with water and Level Three is a 50 amp circuit with no water or sewer. Then you've got dry camping spaces for tents. It is nice to have a place where the nightly rent is cheap. If you've got a horse that you're carrying, you got a place you can stall for about 10 bucks a night. I don't know what that includes besides water for your horse. It's been a long time since I owned a horse and I haven't been checking on what other provisions they have now. If you're hauling a trailer full of cattle and you have a problem, there's a place for that too. They can accommodate them for a night but I don't know how much longer than that. The people that are in charge there and run the place are really nice and they did a good job for us. We had close to 4050 rigs there close to 100 folks. If you figure every rig has two people then we have 50 rigs or so. Some of them only had one person like me and some had three. So if you're going through and you, you don't want to stay at 3 Islands Crossing campground or the winery campground then the fairgrounds is a pretty good place to stay. Every group of RV parking has a bathroom house and a shower house. They have three stalls for the shower and three stalls for the bathroom side each.
There's no store on the Fairgrounds but the Main Grocery Store is only a half a mile, if that, down the street. A nice walk if you're up for walking. Glenn's ferry is a nice small country town with some nice restaurants, local water and holes and ice cream. Parlor a nice winery and they don't hassle you as long as you keep the speed down. So if you are going west out of Twin Falls on I-84 or you're coming East past Mountain Home on I-84, Glenn's Ferry is about halfway between them. Nice place to stop, take a little time and smell the horses and the railroad then have...
Read moreThe Elmore County Fairgrounds is well laid out and maintained. The livestock handling facilities are a great mix of old-school wood corrals and gates with modern "pig-proof" metal pens. Big arenas with stadium seating beckon the crowds to hear the auctioneer or watch the rodeo action.
Ample full hook-up camping is available for the various events by reservation.
My group of campers enjoyed the hot showers and other utilities and facilities. The town of Glenn's Ferry is a couple blocks away with its historic Opera House and nearby museums and venues. Gas, groceries, taverns, music - plenty for everybody along the awesome...
Read moreI would NOT enter any of your personal (family heirloom) items at Elmore County Fair. I did in 2019, and someone was very careless and negligent with my item and broke a 70 years old antique family owned bottle in various pieces. I requested the fair Mgr. Julie send me a letter of apology (signed) along with the Board of Directors. They have elected NOT to do so as of this date Aug. 15th, 2019. So, what does that tell you about THEM? Also, the Mountain Home News did an on-line survey asking 138 people if they made it down to the fair. 52% polled responded: 'I NEVER GO!" I...
