I originally ordered a range and dryer from a major home improvement chain. I had such a hassle to schedule delivery! I ordered March 5 and the range was delivered March 27! The dryer was not in stock although it was when I ordered it! I won't go into the details here, but I will say the range was delivered with NO installer, although installation was ordered. It turned out it was defective, and I was told it would take 30 days to reorder! How ridiculous! I called John Plyler and the 2 items were in stock. I ordered on April 4 and they were delivered and installed April 10. The 2 delivery men were very helpful and did not leave until both appliances were installed and running. I only have two suggestions for the delivery people. They removed the range from the cardboard crate while still in the truck. They also removed the protective blue plastic cover from the stainless steel before bringing in the house. I feel that those 2 actions could have caused exterior damage, so I would encourage delivery people to bring the item inside the house FIRST before removing from crate and protective covering. Had the appliance been scratched or dented, I would have to wait for a new one to be delivered and I would be upset to have to wait! Also it was raining. The delivery men had already removed the range from the crate inside the truck, and were going to move the range into the house with no cover in the rain. I did not want to risk the electronic components being exposed to rainwater. I asked the delivery men if they could cover the range and they did do what I asked and covered with a moving quilt. Again, had they left the range in the crate, while moving it into the house, it would not have been exposed to rain. But they were very nice when I asked them to cover the range. Also I was given an upgrade on the range at no extra charge. I was very pleased with that. From now on, I will shop with local businesses and not the big chains. I only paid an extra $75 and it was well worth it too get my range and dryer delivered less than a week from my order date! I want to encourage everyone in my area to shop at John Plyler...
Read moreI had a visit here last week. I was visiting from Texas and camping at a nearby park. I went here looking for firewood or directions to someone that may sale firewood. The owner was rude and very short. He knew he was wrong because he ended up giving me some wood from his house. But that wasn’t good enough. He just had to get a racist remark in there. He said I hope you didn’t think I was delivering you to someone so I hope you weren’t scared. Little did he know I was locked and loaded . Such a freakin red neck. I will never walk back in here and would advise anyone of color or emphasize with black people to do so as well. Him and the hag that was working in the store. I don’t steal ain’t nothing in the...
Read moreI recently moved to the area and am remodeling. Everyone at Plyler's goes out of their way to help whether it's looking for a tool or planning a remodel project. The owner, of all people, took the time out of his busy schedule to help me find and order a special blade for my saw. I usually seek out John Bush to double check my plans. For example, his advice on sistering floor joists and building a temporary support wall saved me a few hundred dollars and made the projects much easier to complete. Their lumber prices are comparable to Lowes, their advice is invaluable and I save a 2 hour round trip to Hot Springs. I really have nothing but good things to say...
