Famous Nails & Spa — Local services in Golden Valley

I have to preface this with they do decent pedicures sometimes (Depending who does it), but I don't like the way they talk to me. I live close so it's very convenient to go to this shop, but I seem to have different experience every time.

I've gone three times (one with a friend and twice alone) over the course of the past year. The time with my friend was one of the best pedicures I've had so I couldn't wait to go back. BUT they must have been trying to create more sales because they literally told my friend she had bushy eye brows and they should get a wax... We were only there for a pedicure so it was a bit insensitive especially in the open setting with others around. The second time I went wasn't as great as the first but still alright.

Unfortunately, the last time I went, the woman who did my toes did $10 quality of work. I was in and out of the chair in maybe 20 mins. No sidewall cleaning, barely any cuticle work, cut my hyponychium (w no apology), and my nail was chipped off in literally 2 days. Once she heard I wanted the regular polish with the basic pedicure, any spa like experience went out the window. Not to mention she was making me very uncomfortable for not getting my nails done in a while because she was joking at the polish being a different color on top from being so worn/dirty. Yesterday, I got one of the special pedicures. When the lady was filling up the water in the foot bath, I noticed her picking things out and throwing them to the side but she continued filling the bath.

When I looked closely I saw some sort of brown pieces and then saw some toe nail clippings. One clipping was a big crescent shape. I said “I can’t put my feet in there.” So another lady asked me to sit in another chair while they cleaned it.

My aunt was treating me to a pedicure and she had already started her pedicure so I decided to stay.

The masks and exfoliating products seemed nice but I felt like the lady who did my toenails did the bare minimum. She clipped a little off the nails, didn’t do anything with the cuticles, and didn’t shape them. The nail polish seemed low quality and has bubbles (see pictures). I Googled what would cause this and I’m seeing that it can happen when nail polish is old or applied too thickly.

The nails came out good. But I had to change the original style I wanted because she was unable o do it and came off a bit rude at the beginning. So if you’re going with a certain idea of what you want they might say they can’t do it. She then asked if I wanted my eyebrows done. Once it came to doing it. She was really rough with it to the point that I came back with scratches from the waxing which has never happened before at other places I’ve been to. She also didn’t put any pain cream afterwards which other places have always done. It stung so bad on my way to the car and I didn’t understand why and then I saw my reflection and had a bright red (blood) scratch. Then at home I felt stinging underneath my eyebrow and another bright red scratch. If you’re going to be waxing eyebrows please remember you’re doing it to a human being and that what you’re doing could hurt them so also be gentle. There’s no reason why someone has to come out of a salon with scratches...
