Went in recently for a brake inspection and let the tech know I’ve been hearing what’s sounds like metal/metal contact coming from the brake rotors. They called me about 10min after I dropped the truck off and said the brakes look great and gave it a clean bill of health. After continuing to hear the noise, I decided to get a second opinion in Wendell the same day and was shown where the metal contact was coming from and that my brake rotor was completely shot on the one side. Les Schwab in Gooding has lots of young techs in my opinion, and not as much experience as you’d like to see when it comes to servicing vehicles. If I could select 10 stars I would. The wife and I were passing through Saturday headed west and started experiencing a vicious front end vibration whenever the brakes were applied. We pulled off and looked for tire shops nearby, we ended up at this location. Customer service and employee honesty was amazing! I believe we dealt with the manager, I think his name was Eric. We arrived, explained our situation and we got in right away. Shortly after I was advised it was the front rotors and they could take care of it. Also had the tires rotated and full brake inspection. I got a quote for tires for my truck. Booked the appointment on a Monday including an alignment. They got the tires replaced properly but the alignment machine had an issue. The service writer said he would contact me as soon as the machine was fixed. He did not. I called that Friday and was told it was fixed. I drove back down (45 minute drive) to have the alignment done. With over 25 years of automotive industry experience I would have at least offered a discount or gift card for the inconvenience.
