I usually like to call ahead before booking tours, especially when reviews seem too good to be true. When I called Redlands ATV Tours, it was completely unprofessional â they couldnât tell me anything about the company, whatâs makes them stand out responding only with âwe have lightsâ
On good faith of reviews and a nice website We booked a 10pm tour, which sounded like a great time slot, but from the start there were red flags. There were no clear signs, directions, or instructions on where to go. The location ended up being just a fenced-off dirt lot with a single light in the middle of farm fields. From there, we were shuttled in an old van back to the business site hidden in tall grass, which already felt sketchy.
The biggest issue came at check-in. Their website clearly states $120 per person including pictures/videos, with a $43 nonrefundable prepayment required when booking online. That left $200 remaining for two people, plus a refundable $100 deposit per ATV for damages. Which was stated online the deposit to be cash not the entire remaining balance. However, upon arrival we were told the entire balance and deposit had to be paid in cash only, and they refused to take cards. On top of that, the teenager at the desk kept giving conflicting answers and quoting different prices than whatâs on the website. To make matters worse, they even charged tax on a full cash payment, most places give you discounts or even state no tax on cash payment â which made no sense and came across as another sketchy and unprofessional practice. I hope they are reporting their taxes correctly.
Things didnât improve once outside. By the time we got there, the safety briefing had already been rushed through, and one of the guides was clearly holding a beer and stumbling around. Thankfully, one guide was very professional and helpful (shoutout to him), but the rest felt completely unorganized. They didnât even have enough ATVs ready, and while we booked a 10pm ride, the group didnât roll out until about 10:15. To make it worse, the tour ended early â we were back by about 10:45â10:50, meaning we started late and finished early, not even close to a full hour as advertised.
As for the âtourâ itself â it was nothing like advertised. There were no sights, no unique experience, just circling farm fields in the mud. Several ATVs, including mine, stalled out randomly, and some didnât even have working lights. The pictures and videos supposedly included in the package were taken on someoneâs personal iPhone by the same guide who appeared under the influence. We never received any instructions on how to access the photos or videos we had paid for. Lastly at the very end while getting the cash deposit back they had the nerve to ask for tips. My fiancĂ© felt uncomfortable during the situation.
As someone who travels often and books tours regularly, this was hands-down the most unprofessional experience Iâve ever had. Poor organization, misleading pricing, safety concerns, and nothing unique about the ride itself. The only positive was one hardworking guide who tried his best, but overall this place felt like it was being run by a group of kids with no structure or accountability. Money wasted, and I would not recommend this...
Read moreOur tour was amazingâit was a while ago, but I still think about it! We had an hour-long tour, but it was raining really hard. Our tour guide was a younger guy, and he told us that if we went outside, the heavy rain would feel like bullets hitting our skin. He asked if weâd like to postpone until the next day, but we decided to stick with it. So, we stayed in the van and ended up chatting and laughing together. He was one of the funniest people Iâve ever met, and he made the time fly by.
It was pouring so much that where we were touringâsort of a farm areaâthere were huge puddles everywhere. The water was so deep that it could actually lift the MTV off the ground a bit. Our guide even did some wheelies in the puddles! There were four of us, including the guide, and by the end of the tour, we were absolutely soaked. We couldnât even tell whether the water came from the rain or from all the dirty puddlesâit was hilarious!
If youâre planning on doing this tour, Iâd recommend bringing your driverâs license or a picture of it, because youâll need it to rent the MTVs. The MTVs were so easy to driveâthey were automatic. Just a heads-up: finding where the MTVs are is a bit complicated because thereâs no sign, so keep that in mind. Also, bring around $1000â$2000 depending on how many people youâre going with, since youâll need to put down a refundable deposit of $100 per person, based on how many MTVs you rent. You might also want to rent goggles or other safety gear. We didnât go for the extra safety gear like goggles because it was really expensive, and we wanted to keep things affordable, but it does add to the experience and keeps you safer if you fall off. Iâd recommend at least getting goggles if you donât get anything else, just in case.
My only regret from the tour was not bringing my phone because of the rain. I wish weâd been able to take pictures. The tour had such a wonderful smellâlike rain, dirt, and treesâand it was really soothing to the soul. The van was so warm and cozy that stepping outside made the weather feel even colder...
Read moreThis was the worst experience ever! DO NOT BOOK UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SCAMMED FOR YOUR TIME , PATIENCE AND UNPROFESSIONALISM .They have minors running this business that have no idea on what they are doing. NO MANAGER OR OWNER WAS PRESENT DURING THIS SITUATION OR EVEN CALLED. These children running this business told my group & I that we would be âNext in lineâ numerous of times to still having to wait hours, mind you this excursion was booked prior to even arriving at the RED ATV LAND ( if you plan on taking an uber just know you will be outside waiting until your next, maybe even hours ) My group & I waited for 4 hours OUTSIDE to get onto our ATV tour leading us to finally ride at 1AM. Our original time for the excursion was at 11PM they texted for us to arrive for an earlier time of 10PM as soon as we arrive the security had mentioned that there was an accident during the ATV tour ride that was currently going on and that everyoneâs times were being pushed backâŠ. Other people that also booked this excursion complained about the exact same thing , that no refunds or even next day tours could be made WHICH IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, A WASTE OF TIME AND MOMEY & IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE THAT NOTHING WAS ACCOMMODATED THERE ARE DEFINITELY BETTER ATV TOUR GUIDES IN MIAMI AND THIS ONE IS THE WORST ONE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND WORST...
