Sharky's Golf Cart & Jet Ski Rentals — Local services in Grand Isle

We rented a side by side from Beach Bum Rental aka Sharky’s for 3+ days cash up front. On the second day it broke down on the beach. It took more than 3 hours for the worker to reach us. He brought oil with him because evidently this is not the first time for this to happen. He filled the oil and it started. The machine was not leaking oil, it was using oil or low when we took possession of it. The worker said he would address this issue the next morning. We did not get a call from him. We called him to return the machine because it was still sputtering and dying on us. It was not a trustworthy machine to be out in the beach in. We drove it back sputtering the entire way and ask for a refund of at least one day. The worker told us to call the owner. The owner Dustin Cheramie was not helpful at all said we had NO recourse. There happened to be a city policeman near. We stopped him to get advice and help. He said he was very sorry this happened to us and unfortunately we were NOT the first. Do not rent from Beach Bums. Very Poor Customer Service!!! Contacted him by phone for a half day cart rental at 2:30pm on 3/15/2023. We agreed on $80 cash and was instructed to proceed to his lot and fill out paperwork with no personal contact. After 16 text and phone calls we weren't able to find a key to any cart on his lot that was operational. Requested that he come to his lot to find us an operational cart and he refused. 45 minutes wasted and NO cart. Wish we could give him 0 stars. *UPDATE: A response ( see below ) by the owner to a negative review proves my point. Responding to a customer with STUPID and IGNORANT, is IGNORANCE in itself on how to run a business. Find key 45 or 21 in the picture I posted, it is nowhere to be found. if i could give zero stars i would. we were given a half a tank golf cart with a very wobbly steering wheel and it was already damaged causing something to break “because of us” when it was already in risk. We talk to the owners about everything and they said they would talk to the higher up person, dustin, and see what he thinks. We were told no charges would be made to the card until a discussing was held with the owners and then with us (to be on the same page). Soon after they overly charged for “damages we’ve created” with no warning.
