Very middle of the road experience here.
The manager here was very rude, didn't know how to work her own register or what the policy of her store is. I went in to reload my prepaid mastercard that they sell here, and she told me she couldn't do it because it has a paypal logo in the top right. This is after every "Floor level" worker there had been reloading my card for months on end, multiple times a month, sometimes even a week with zero issues.
I walked her through how to reload the card and she then refused to give me a receipt. I told her that I needed the receipt and she said that it wasn't store policy to give receipts on loading cards, especially because this was "sketchy".
Like, excuse me? You SELL THESE CARDS IN YOUR STORE. They were literally 5 feet from where she was checking me out and I even pointed to them and said "Then why do you sell them, labeled with paypal logos when you claim you can't load them because it has a paypal logo on it?"
Keep in mind, this card has nothing to do with paypal in a mechanical sense. It's literally just a Prepaid Mastercard Debit Card. The only reason it has a paypal logo on it is because paypal is who provides the cards statement, so you use them to see what is left on the card, what you've bought, mark fraudulent charges, ect. Loading the card does not put it on a paypal account, but on a Mastercard Debit account that Paypal just gives you the option to manage electronically instead of via paper mail.
It's just a horrifying experience when you've got an elderly manager who doesn't know what she's doing, smarting off to customers because she doesn't understand how technology as basic as a cash register or prepaid card works, then calls the person "Sketchy" when they tell the manager to ask the people she's over how to do it, or explain it yourself and refuses a receipt when it's required for using the card in the event that SHE messes something up.
And the thing is, if there was an issue with the card, you don't even go back to the store to get it sorted out. You call MASTERCARD and they just check in for you. That's why you need the receipt.
It was an experience that was so poor that when I brought it up to some of the other staff there, they said it's best to just avoid coming to the store when she is around because she snaps at customers all the time. Here's to hoping she gets fired soon, so that one of the more intelligent staff can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been shopping the Dollar General store location in my area lately. Comparing prices. I have went on the Dollar General app downloaded digital coupons. Doing this has really been a good experience for me. They have sale items that also include the digital coupon items. By doing this in combination I have been saving more money on my household supplies than with local competitive store locations. I recommend the Dollar General app and their sales and coupons period in combination I save money, I save time and I can go make my shopping trips more enjoyable by doing this. I recommend the local Dollar General stores. I can shop here and actually do better than going in large department store spending a lot of unnecessary money. Then I can enjoy more time with my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMost of the time the store is a bit of a mess and they only have one cashier line open which can get backed up. They'll put a bunch of clearance items in shopping carts outside but none of it hardly ever has a price on it. Apparently they have some new color dot pricing system but a lot of the items don't have a dot and if they do good luck figuring out what color that dot stands for I always have to ask an associate who is usually busy being the only cashier. Usually just stop in for snacks or random hygiene items not the place to stop if you're in a hurry. Was also disappointed to find they weren't carrying gardening seeds this year when all the other Dollar generals I've been...
