Grant Mountain Thrift Store — Local services in Grant

Me and my girls always find good stuff here, name brand stuff, cute home decor, etc! As far as the business owner, I have been in there several times where she is GIVING stuff to the students in our community that need things, she gives to people in nursing homes, she has an outdoor pantry for the kids and adults that are in need of food so these comments about her are just absolutely insane, or maybe she just isn’t fake like the rest of us? I’m sure she doesn’t post how much she does for the ones in our community that are actually in need of help, which in my opinion is a good thing because to me it proves that’s she’s not doing it to be praised by all of US but she’s doing it out of the kindness of her heart. As far as the ones complaining about the pricing I think people are ignorant to the fact of what all it takes to run a business, because they have never had a business, but I’ll tell you I just purchased a Patagonia vest, looks brand new, for $25 that is well over $120 new in stores…did I expect to buy it for $5 like most of you would, absolutely not. Did she get rich off my $25 purchase…I’m sure that didn’t even put a dent in the light bill for that place. I’ve paid more for Patagonia items...

My husband and I were out enjoying the beautiful weather yesterday and went out of our way to find this little thrift store. This is more like a retail store than a thrift, all of the things of value are on a top shelf on display not for sale, the prices on the other products were mind blowing!! I love to look for old jewelry and was enjoying looking at all of the treasures. The owner had to step out of the front and left 2 young adults to watch the store, my husband and I were the only ones in the store, and she loudly and emphatically said to the young adults, "Watch the front, keep an eye on the front, make sure you watch the front!!!" Need I say again, my husband and I were the only ones in this little shop! How would that make you feel? Unbelievable, I owned a business for 25 years and would have never said anything like that in front of my customers! And here in the SOUTH, hospitality goes...

When she first opened this place it was nice, but but now she acts like it's Walmart she overcharges on everything this stuff is donated to her and she is trying to make a killing off of it there are more Goodwill stores around a lot cheaper better products and there are so many people talking really bad about this place I will never go back in there again I bought a shelf he put it in my car when I got home my husband took it out and it fell apart the prices are just ridiculous especially when she pays nothing for the stuff and doesn't donate anything no money to no charities or anything...
