Unfortunate. I would've given this store 5 stars before COVID-19, but since this has all been happening the store has a general anti-mask vibe. Both of my grandparents recently passed away from COVID-19, and they would shop here at least twice a week.. Our lawyers and the department of health are still working on the contact tracing part to figure out exactly where they got it, and I 100% think this is where they contracted it.. They didn't go out much, and I went in here the other day for the first time in a month or two and the three girls working in the deli didn't have a mask in sight. There was one boy who works there that was wearing a mask and he was stocking shelves. It's insane to think that a big business like this is completely unaware of the repercussions that are going to come down on them. Since contact tracing is getting better with more and more people unknowingly having the software on their phones we will be able to pinpoint exactly where these outbreaks are happening and these businesses are going to get shut down. It's sad that it has to come to this, in the face of such petty stubbornness and minor inconveniences.. I guess people are just...
Read moreI live 6 miles from any of the grocery stores in the area. I chose to go to CV's in Gravette because short lines at the checkout and less people to get by in the isles. The positive : they have the best meats around. Their hamburger, beef and pork ribs are superior to any I've found in the area. They do run specials on some items each week. They are also one of the only places around here I can get Baileys coffee creamer. The negative: Their prices are approximately 25-30% higher than their major competitor. Also, they have a limited inventory of items and their shelves are about 65% stocked. Some items listed on the shelves are simply missing. Cheese is one area that this holds true. This is not a place to do all your grocery shopping unless you have no other option. Service is mediocre at best. The checkout tends to be staffed by younger people who would rather be elsewhere. There seems to be no way to fix that in today's society. All in all, I gave them a weak 3 star rating. You can't really expect much better than this in...
Read moreWine in a fridge!
Seems like they just tossed some shelf wine in there but it shows someone is thinking about it and it's not for nothing, it should prevent further damage. If they order slightly nicer wine that comes by refrigerated truck to stock that section I'll give them a four but a five would require I actually get food there and I don't, a lot would have to change for that to shift.
I do however buy a lot of Asti, the DOCG standard holds a lot of weight with me, mainly my big pet pieve is that the difference in quality between wine that has or hasn't fluctuated in temperature while in the bottle is immense. From cellar, to refrigerator truck, to refrigerator, or shelf. Every degree of temperature change is a detectable kind of damage. Sitting on a shelf for the simple fluctuations in temperature between day and night make for low quality wine. This is why quality wine is typically kept underground where it's a very constant, cool...
