Sutherlands — Local services in Great Bend

I absolutely love Great Bend Sutherlands! The guys are always helpful and friendly! Last year I spent almost $10,000 there as I gradually update my parents house for future generations. I have always seen it as a part of my community so earlier this summer, I was a little disappointed that when gathering small local business donations for a young Great Bend man's Benefit, I was informed that Sutherlands does not donate to individuals in the community. Only organizations. I totally respect their guidelines but now save money by making a day of large purchases with a friend by driving to Home Depot in Hays or at one of the other businesses that have a history of contributing to local charities. Even with the gas and milage, my cost is less. But their friendly staff and convenient location definitely still draws me in for my more immediate needs. And who knows. Perhaps in the near future they will see a simple $25 gift card donation to a local charity as an investment in their community, also. My husband and I bought some boards to fix our porch but when we got home they were the wrong size. So I went back to return them and exchange for the correct size. However this time I had to go by myself because my husband was at work and I'm not able to lift the weight of the lumber alone. I called ahead and they had Mark come out to my vehicle and helped me unload the lumber, then he took me inside and help me find the correct size. They already had the return slip waiting when I got back to the counter. It was a very easy Exchange and everything was done in a matter of less than 10 minutes. I was very grateful for their help. I stopped going here years ago and I just tried it the other day again simply looking for a log of electrical tape and they could barely even show me where the tape was then I just ended up going to Harbor Freight and seriously when I asked a simple math question they could not answer me at all I'm not exactly sure how old the kids were running the store but they should really go back to school and learn just basic math I will never go there again oh and the manager should probably stop hitting on teenagers and probably...
