12Eleven catering catered our ~90 person wedding 5/22/21. Stephanie (the owner) was willing to travel a distance for the event which we appreciated and the Mac N Cheese and Broccoli Alfredo were very tasty. However, record keeping and communication was TERRIBLE and seemed like starting from scratch with arrangements every time we were able to get ahold of her. She doesn't respond to emails and always has an excuse. Charged pricing adjustment surcharge without discussing, for brisket. Just added it on to final payment. Ordered smoked chicken breasts but at the event we were shocked and extremely disappointed to only see chicken legs/thighs instead. This was specifically discussed more than once when making arrangements and she even said "she would never serve finger food at a wedding style event like ours and legs/thighs do not hold up well on a buffet. She would definitely only serve chicken breasts." The Smoked Brisket was VERY fatty with multiple complaints from guests! Majority of people's slices of meat were pure fat. If you order the green beans don't expect anything more than canned green beans because that is what was served. Had to hire 3 of our own servers to assist with serving buffet and clearing tables and thank goodness we did because she would never have been able to pull it off by herself like she promised she would. The only other staff at the event provided by Stephanie was the bartender. Said she had NO help to bring! Alcohol was left in chiller tray and on bar at end of event and not properly stored away which is legally required. Our appetizers were put out in the 90 degree heat at 3:30pm for the 5pm cocktail hour. Our event coordinator questioned her about this and Stephanie (who was well aware of the timeline in advance) became argumentative and was defending her decision about putting food out so early. We had the spinach dip, cowboy dip, shrimp cocktail and fruit. She promised the set-up would be beautiful, with three tiered trays, etc. but to our surprise, the appetizers were all just set out in clear plastic bowls, with other clear plastic bowls placed over them. Shrimp cocktail was hardly put on any ice at all. I don't think the other dips and fruit were over ice at all. But definitely wasn't following food safety protocols and the shrimp probably were not safe to eat. We could go on with more bad details, but overall, we would not recommend hiring this caterer for any wedding or event. We were thoroughly...
Read moreEditted 1-7-18 After posting that review, I was told to email the owner. We talked and she took care of the situation. My boyfriend and I visited again a few days ago. I ordered the Black Bean burger with avocado and smoked mac & cheese. It was amazing! You could taste the smokey-ness in the mac & cheese. Towards the end of my burger, I added some of the house BBQ sauce, it was amazing! Our waitress was so sweet!!! She talked to us for a while and was the reason I got the black bean burger. We ended up going back the following night with some friends. We had a good time. Food was amazing! I had two pork tacos and the mac & cheese again. He had the brisket sandwich and fries. He was stuffed before he could finish is fries.
December 11/12th, My boyfriend and I visited 12Eleven today... We sat down unsure how this was going to work because Dickey's used to be in the building and that was a more order at the counter restaurant. It took the waitress a few minutes to notice us and realize that we just sat down. Once she did notice us she took pretty good care of us and kept our drinks filled. My only complaint with this establishment is that I had originally ordered the Smoked Mac & cheese, which I found out they were out of. I understood because it was opening day. Then I ordered a Baked Potato Loaded. My boyfriend could see the other waitress took my potato and put it on her table's plate. As she was walking to the table, our waitress had some sort of argument or something about this because I ordered the potato first and we arrived at the restaurant before the other table. However, the other waitress didn't care and continued to take the food out to her table. So then our waitress had to come apologize because they were now out of Baked Potatoes. I had to settle for their Baked Beans, which were good, but I would have rather to have had the potato I ordered. The pork tacos, bronco fries, and the sausage sandwich were all very good. Which is why I gave a 4...
Read moreLeaving this as an HONEST. The food was decent and price was comparable to other caterers, however communication was terrible.
The day of the wedding she showed up by herself an hour late which caused us to have to delay our reception. She had to pull workers hired from our venue to help her since she did not bring any help with her.
Our final head count ended up being less than we had initially paid her for. She had offered promotions that we took advantage of, but once she realized that she owed us money, she had taken those discounts off our invoice. Luckily, we noticed this and after we pointed it out, she did end up honoring the promotion. She told us she would refund us the day after our wedding but that did not happen. It took over two weeks of myself texting, calling, leaving voicemails, emailing, and Facebook messaging asking when the refund would be processed. Most of my messages to her got ignored, and when she did answer there was always an excuse. She claimed that she was off work due to her son visiting, which I totally understand. However, she was still posting on Facebook jobs that she had catered in the meantime. If she would have just given us an approximate day that she would be back to work and refund us, we would have been happy. Even when she told us how much she owed, she still waited days to actually send it.
Overall, I would not recommend based on our experience. If she would give a better tasting experience, bring more help, be prompt, and communicate more effectively, she would be a good caterer. If you do book with 12Eleven be sure to pay attention to and save ALL invoices for your own record.
P.S. When she says she gives gluten free options, she just points out to the gluten sensitive guests which foods don’t have...
