WHAT AN ABSOLUTE AWFUL SKATE RINK.. the people were nice enough, as were the staff (for the most part)-- however the floor is THE WORST FLOOR I'VE EVER SKATED ON. at first i thought it was just my wheels on my personal skates (they're pretty worn and i do need some new ones) so i rented a pair of speed quads- but nope- the floor was still EXTREMELY SLIPPERY AND DULL- NOT WAXED AT ALL- to the point where i couldn't even skate normal- i looked like i'd never skated in my life.
when i went to rent their skates THE SKATES WERE ALL BROKEN. i'm not even kidding- i say this bc the guy told me they were all broken when i returned the first pair i tried and i thought surely they couldn't ALL BE BROKEN. they were though. wish i had taken some pics of all four pairs i tried bc they were seriously all broke- but at this point i was losing my patience.. it also smelt like urine when i sat to put on my skates,, that was really gross.
THERE WERE ALOT OF PEOPLE WALKING ON THE FLOOR. this explains why the floor was such crap (on top of them clearly not waxing it). now, people walking the edge with their kid learning how to skate is fine to me. but when you're in the middle of skaters going around the rink- THAT'S NOT OKAY. people were literally walking in ALL DIRECTIONS. like they were strolling through the park. STAFF DID NOTHING TO STOP THIS. kids were skating against the flow which was really annoying bc too many times did we almost skate into each other. again- STAFF DID NOTHING TO STOP THIS.
THE MUSIC WAS AWFUL. they played nothing that was even close to a skate vibe- NOTHING UPBEAT OR DANCEABLE. it was very depressing and boring overall. the music sound was very low too but then when an announcement came on it was like blasting your eardrums.
they were also playing a rated R movie on the projector screen- there were alot of kids there (three kid bday parties were happening) so that didn't make much sense. it had no subtitles or volume but still, nevertheless.
HAD TO TAKE SKATES OFF 20mins BEFORE CLOSING. they say they close at 5p but told everyone to leave at 4:40p. they repeatedly announced this over the intercom like every two minutes- they were very adamant about everyone returning their crappy skates and leaving. OF ALL THAT WAS HAPPENING ON THAT FLOOR THEY WERE SO WORRIED ABOUT GETTING EVERYONE OUT BEFORE FIVE.
happy to see skating rinks still open but if you're going to be open then you need to keep it up, specifically the floor, and manage it properly. otherwise YOU'RE JUST RIPPING PEOPLE OFF AND PREVENTING THEM FROM HAVING...
Read moreI paid a deposit for my daughter's birthday on the 25th of April and what happens? NO ONE THERE to open the doors. We had been planning this birthday party for months. We had family coming from out of state. We took care of everything and what does the manager say? Deposit refund and a free skate day? Are you serious? As far as I am concerned, no one should EVER do business with this worthless skating rink. Absolutely unreliable, absolutely unprofessional behavior. Oh yes, they will make sure that an underage employee will be there for the general public, but when it comes to the real money, if it means getting off of their lazy so as to host a party that was planned ahead, its no big thing to the owners obviously. We had to redirect everyone to our house, with no skating, had to pay a friend an exorbitant amount of money to have him cancel plans so he could DJ at our home, not to mention beg forgiveness from our good neighbors for the unanticipated noise and parking problems. I will NEVER allow my children or my friends to attend any events hosted by this business ever again. I wouldn't trust them to host a drunken derby, much less a child's party. Stay away if you care for the safety of your children, as I now know the adult manager is only there when it suits them, which is very rarely. One of their own employee's that did finally show up right before it was opened for the general public was telling me how the manager stays "sick" all the time. Don't waste your money booking this place, or risk your child's safety. There are too many other establishments with much more reliability...
Read moreThe guy running the entrance with the beard was cool. The tall young guy working the snack bar on April 15th 2025 was absolutely rude. My girlfriend asked for a whole cheese pizza, he said they weren't making any cheese pizzas so she ordered a slice of pepperoni (pulled the pep off the pizza) and also ordered a Dr Pepper NO ICE. He was on his phone the entire time. She looked at me in disbelief of this guy so I got up and told him it's rude to be on his phone and to give my girl what she ordered. He said he didn't hear her and told me I could leave. I spent $200 on a new pair of skates for her and that's how we get treated. I doubt I'll ever go back , it's a shame because I grew up in that rink, I'm 44 years old now. One star because of the rude snack bar attendant who can't seem to get off his phone to do his...
