I had the worst flight coming from South Carolina to Kansas City. I started my day by getting up at two a.m. to catch a flight at 6:55 am because I try to plan for unavoidable circumstances. Everything was going well my sister, my girlfriend and I left for the airport at four-thirty and we got thru baggage and security this is when everything went wrong. We boarded the plane at about six-thirty and everyone was seated, the captain's came over the intercom and told us it would be a thirty-six minute flight and he taxied to the runway all of a sudden he came on the intercom and talked about some numbers then he went on to tell us that we couldn't take-off because of the weather. Then he said we would set on the plane it would be a thirty minute delay then he got on the intercom and said we would have to exit the plane because it would be like a two hour delay so we all exit the plane. My girlfriend just happened to go to the courtesy desk and this is another frustrating scenario. Somehow they sent her two texts and one the said that we would arrive later than expected. The second text said that we would have two other stops before we would arrive in Kansas City and thats not the half of it, some how me and my girlfriend had the same comfirmation number and my sister had a separate comfirmation number but the airlines split me and my girlfriend up. They had us on two seperate flights with no explanation. Now let me put this out there a white woman at the ticket counter in front of us when she was done they gave her a fifteen dollar voucher for food for her inconvenience but when my girlfriend was done they didn't offer her anything. Then they boarded us again and come to find out they messed our tickets up again. They had me going straight to Kansas City and my girlfriend going to three other stops. We could not figure out how this happened but by now we are reboarding this is almost four hours later. Were on the plane and after anout fifteen minutes the steward gets on the intercom and says there might be another delay. So the steward says we might have to exit the plane again, we are beyond frustration now. So the stewart said if anyone needs to use the restroom this is the time, so I get up to use the bathroom and its a guy thats coming up the aisle so when I get out of the restroom the steward yells at me to close the door. The only reason I left it open is that I knew the guy needed to use it. I felt like one of her kids but I kept my composure even though I was very irritated. By that time the pilot got on the intercom and announced that we were clear for takeoff. The flight was thirty-six minutes, we arrived in Atlanta. Now for me and my friend we have two more planes to board while my sister has only one. The funny thing (not really funny) we made our reservation before my sister. The reason I inow is because my girlfriend had to make my sister's weeks later. So we are sitting in Atlanta at twelve forty-five pm unfortunately waiting for our next flight that won't takeoff until 4:30pm. This process has been very frustrating and annoying. This was my very first flying experience and I would not have expected all this stressful and unexplained circumstances. Southwest Airlines you dropped the ball on many fronts i'm definitely not impressed with your professionalism or accountability. I don't know how this ordeal will end because im in Atlanta with two more planes to catch. I was supposed to get to Kansas City at 9:30 a.m., now they say I'll get there by 9:30 pm, twelve hours later than my original arrival time. Thank you for taking...
Read moreThe airport operates as a small yet efficient facility. While it lacks the increasingly popular airport lounges, this is understandable considering its size.
Regrettably, my experience was tainted by their parking reservation system, which, in my professional opinion as someone with 25 years of software development experience, is clearly amateurish. Here's what unfolded: I entered the parking lot at 5:30 AM on the day of my departure and intended to leave the lot at 11 PM, 14 days later. However, during the reservation process, I selected 1 PM as the parking lot exit time on the parking lot portal, assuming that this information was solely for occupancy calculation purposes and not for determining charges. Typically, in any other parking lot worldwide (and I believe this is mandated by law), charges are based on the number of days up to 24 hours from the time of entry, unless the last day is calculated by hours (which is not the case here).
To my dismay, the website utilized the parking exit time I entered to charge me an extra day if I exceeded it. Shockingly, there was no disclaimer or clarification provided anywhere on the website regarding this policy.
Had I been aware of this policy, I would have undoubtedly entered 5 AM the following day as my parking lot exit time instead of 1 PM the previous day. Consequently, the airport charged me an additional $8, despite the fact that I had already made the payment. While $8 may not significantly impact my finances, I contacted their customer service to address the issue, but unfortunately, they were rude and possibly failed to understand the problem. They should have expressed gratitude and offered an apology instead.
Therefore, I felt compelled to report this matter to my credit card company and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Additionally, I am writing this negative review as an expression of my deep disappointment. Encountering such a situation is truly...
Read moreLISTEN! Speaking as someone who frequents this airport, it is very personable but effective. However, their signage is HORRIBLE! Their signs are as if this is the old airport from the 90s or earlier. This airport is and has grown rather rapidly. They need to update these signs in size and with "LIGHT'S". Literally any sign before the new round abouts. People need things to be big and in their face. Even upon arrive up the road towards the airport it is very dark. Also, the parking lots need bigger signs within the lanes. Perhaps write the lane number on the ground in big yellow letters. Ex: "ROW 4". People need to be "DIRECTED" at an airport. For some, this is their first visit or flight. The locations at the terminal need bigger signs also. Ex: A/B/C/D. The sections are extremely too small. On the inbound, the zone flags need to be BIGGER and more straight forward. The number board for PB parking structure needs to face oncoming traffic. People are constantly reversing down the newly made path. There also needs to be bigger signs that tell you which way Rt.85 & 14 are. Maybe a big interstate logo on the ground.
I know this comes off as a perturbed review but it's not. I just want to help future attendees that visit our growing little airport. Heck, I can even help with some of the planning. With signs that is lol.
Ultimately, to anyone who makes it this far in my review. Just have a plan of direction. P2, is a better external lot due to it being closer to the terminal and TSA here is VERY fast. Take these few hints and you'll be...
