My husband and I contacted the service department a week or so ago and schedule an appointment for 5/28/24 to have a diagnostic test done on our SUV. We didn’t have this problem in December 2023 when brought our vehicle in the first time, however after running the test the problem was located, and they called my husband. He was informed of the issue and he requested the price to fix it, $540. My husband informed the woman that he would pick up the vehicle tomorrow and schedule a different date to fix it. Said woman calls back 2 hours later saying they did the repair and the $540 was due tomorrow at pick up. We NEVER authorized this, as we both thought this price was high and since knowing the issue we wanted to browse shops to get it fixed, obviously this was not able to happen as the service department went ahead and did the repair…again without permission. Since they messed up my husband offered to pay for the diagnostic test and the part itself. Which would have totaled to $220. They refused anything other than full price ($540). This is a disgusting way to do business and I’m deeply disappointed and disgusted with the service received, along with the unwillingness to compromise on they’re own mistake. I would NOT recommend you don’t do business with them as they do not ask your permission before replacing anything with...
Read moreWe made the costly mistake of recently purchasing from Groton Ford! Apparently it is not standard for this dealer to do an inspection upon intake. Regardless if the vehicle is sold as is or not, needed repairs could have been noted and made known if not made by this dealer. We questioned whether the vehicle may need a repair and was informed after "their tech" took a look, possibly; but they brought up another of the same vehicle and said the sound is normal as they both sounded the same. We should have trusted our instinct. After purchase and the annoying sound not going away, we took the vehicle to our repair guy and it took all but 5 minutes to diagnose the issue. Now we are waiting for a $3000 part. In addition to the repair, the vehicle was due for an oil change which had not been completed any time recently before purchase. Our mistake in trusting Groton Ford to complete a vehicle inspection and that they had completed the maintenance by previous owner. In the future, we will keep our business elsewhere with a trusted dealer that we know values their customers enough to do a vehicle inspection and take care of there customers even when things like...
Read moreFrom sales to service, finance to the owner - they all treat you in how they would want to be treated if they were the customer themselves. I would rather have a tooth pulled than buy a new car, but they made it so simple once I knew what vehicle I wanted. Took the time to explain any item I had a question about, worked around my schedule with little kids and service takes the time to show what they are looking at and what the issue is when they recently took care of warranty work for me. Will always take my vehicle...
