We just returned from an amazing vacation to Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta! This beautiful adults only resort was something I have never experienced before! Check in was fabulous and easy, and the room was spectacular! We were on the North tower. From what we understood they were about 40% capacity as they were doing renovations. The view was incredible along with our favorite place to spend our time, the rooftop pool. This infinity pool was full service, never felt crowded and spotless. If you are wanting to spend time at the beach, this may not be the location for you. The water was murky, there was a small beach area and it was very rocky. It is also not adults only as it includes the other resort. The food was incredible…I have zero complaints about any of the restaurants. The room service was perfect and we ordered breakfast to our balcony every morning! Our favorite was the Chinese Dau restaurant. But they were all amazing. There are no casual style “buffet type” areas to eat at which would maybe be our only complaint. The day we got there we thought we could casually attend one restaurant BlancaBlue but they were not taking any walk ins so we had to contact our butler to find an alternative plan which required us to get ready. I would recommend making sure to make dinner reservations as soon as you get there. As well as making spa/excursion reservations in advance. My partner and I did a couples massage. They include a hot/cold pool prior to your service which was very nice. The massages were very good! Highly recommend. We would have liked to do the kayak trip out of the hotel, but it was booked! Again I recommend booking early! Hotel Mousai is perfect for couples/weddings or a quiet getaway! Also LBGTQ friendly which was a plus! If you are looking for a party resort, this isn’t the place, or just head to town! We didn’t leave the resort as we were there to solely relax! Thanks again to Becah, Heather and Stacy at Sun & Sea travel and always doing a great job on making sure I’m organized with...
Read moreCoco Beach was a beautiful resort and the staff was amazing! Currently they only have one restaurant open but it was always easy to get a table or room service. The food was delicious, especially the Belizean chicken stew and red snapper. The bartenders made the best rum punch and always remembered our names. My boys loved having two different options to choose from when it was time to swim and I loved the ocean view and beautiful, tropical landscaping. Our room was perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We enjoyed renting the golf carts and exploring the island. It was an easy drive to Secret Beach and San Pedro. Excursions were booked next door at the sister resort’s dock. They used Tuff E’ Nuff tours which we can highly recommend as well. Ask Peppa about spear fishing the barracuda if you ever meet him! He’ll be able to show you 12 stitches from our fishing excursion! We also did the mainland tour to see Mayan ruins, go Zip lining and cave tubing. It was a great combination of activities and each was memorable and fun! We snorkeled off the barrier reef and swam with sharks at Shark Ray Alley. Loved every minute of it! We can’t say enough good things about the resort and people of Belize. We will definitely visit again someday soon!
Be sure to visit the Truck Stop (up the road) for an awesome meal/drinks while at San Pedro, and we really liked 303 as well. Both are owned by Americans that have moved to the island. Agh, and don’t forgot to drink some rum punch and...
Read moreWe have heard great things about Sun & Sea Travel and that’s why we chose to use them. We had a larger group (18) and thought using a travel agent would help streamline our process. After our experience, I don’t believe we would ever use them again. Communication wasn’t very clear and was inconsistent with other people in our party. Pricing wasn’t displayed as the same for everyone in the group, information about the resort and options available weren’t given to anyone in the group. We could have missed out on some options that we didn’t know about until we did our own research. When members of our party reached out for some clarification, it took days for a response. Finally when we reached out to get accurate price or info, a dismissive response was given. Apparently 18 people isn’t a “big” party for Sun & Sea, and they handle 200 people parties. It honestly felt like it was either too much for them to handle, or we were pushed aside for an intern to handle. Overall I’d say there wasn’t anything they did that we couldn’t done ourselves. There wasn’t anything I can say that they improved upon or really assisted with. I’m not sure if this is the case with all travel agents, but this was the experience we...
