My grandchildren have been fortunate to attend Groton Community School. It has been such a positive experience to drop them off and to know they are benefiting from a quality program with a professional and committed staff. I worked in Early Intervention for 20 years and provided services to children in a variety of community programs. I have seen the best and the worst programs and GCS certainly ranks with the best. The classroom and outside environment are always set up with a variety of interesting activities meant to actively engage and challenge the child, foster skills in all developmental domains and encourage social growth. Even when observing “free play” you can see the underlying structure and well thought out strategies that keep things running smoothly and minimize the need for “classroom management.” The staff are warm and welcoming to both children and adults. The minute you walk through the doors, you are greeted by friendly staff who know your child and family and greet you by name.
