Looks cute. Less than pleasant experience in the deli today.
Served our food to others, they brought it back after opening, remade one and reserved it to us.
Yuck.
Additional feedback: While the feedback from the owner may reflect what should happen, that is not at all the truth in this situation. I was standing by the counter when the Other customer came up to acknowledge that they had the wrong order. The staff then discussed what to do. The desicion was made to only replace the obviously open food. I should have said something at this point, but mostly wanted to get back on the road with my family.
One sandwich was remade, one was rewrapped or actually had another wrapper added to the one already handled and we were sent on our way. All other handled containers were sent back over the counter. I wiped all the containers with baby wipes back at our truck and we headed out. Only no the road did I realize we were short a pickle from our ordered container of four. So that was a bonus gross. The remade sandwich was on the wrong bread.
And, the end:
In reading the tone you take with me, a customer, I can empathize with your employees in not wanting to cross you, or acknowledge that only one of four sandwiches was disposed of.
I accept your apology about the missing pickle. While I am pretty sure I saw the husband of the couple who grabbed our food from the counter eating one, they probably ordered one as well, thatās a very reasonable assumption. It is a bit alarming that this is the first acknowledgment of an issue with the service, but I appreciate the tenacity in your approach that the customer is lying.
In this time where other people handling your food is quite alarming, more so than usual, perhaps it would be ideal to come up with a system other than someone trying to speak a name with a mask on, in order to ensure customers receive their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAn upscaled food court decked out with locally sourced products. Three food trucks sit as long standing residents in the parking lot, open Monday to Saturday 11am-7pm. Old School Burgers sells a variety of flavored burgers and fries. Pricing is per patty size; 1/4 pound for $6, 1/3 pound for $7, 1/2 pound for $8 and combo burgers off the board are $7 (except the Ron Swanson which is $12, but that come with 8 patties!!), fries are an additional charge. See my accompanying pictures for complete pricing and combinations. These hamburgers consistently hit my number one slot as the best in the āBurg, even against those popular eateries downtown. If burgers arenāt your thing walk over to one of the other trucks, Baja Burrito or Valley Pike BBQ. Iāve enjoyed eating at both trucks a few times, the food at each is excellent. Baja tacos are pretty fantastic, I warn you they are addictive. Valley Pike BBQ meats are delicious, the pulled pork is out of this world and their mac and cheese is stand up killer.
Step inside to the Rumor Mill Coffee Company, open 7am-8pm Monday to Saturday: Sundays open from 8am-8pm. This is it, this is the coffee spot. Not as trendy as being at the Ice House or off University Boulevard but trendy should not keep you from heading to the Rumor Mill. The coffees are Virginian and are all professionally roasted; pastries are freshly home made, including some incredibly tasty cinnamon buns; a variety of hand made quiches: not a bad choice in the lot. See accompanying pictures for their menu board.
Sweet Creations, opened Monday to Sunday 12pm-9pm. Serving up fabulous ice cream and chocolate treats.
Deli open Monday to Sunday 11am-8pm. A variety of taste sandwiches made with quality cold cuts.
Valley Pike Bar open Monday to Sunday 11am-9pm. Very nice neighborhood bar serving top shelf liquor and assorted...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy last visit here, prior to today, was about one year ago. That was not a good visit and neither was today. Today was basically a repeat. But today I thought they had no employees on site and they had been open a couple hours, per Google. Walked in and one other customer was there. Another person, a male who I later found was an employee, sitting at the bar. I guess it is called a bar. No greeting from him and no offer to see if I needed assistance. I did as I had a question on whether they had a specific jelly/jam. I did see this man wait on the other customer then that was it. He was gone. Not getting my question answered I picked out one jelly and a small bag of Dark Chocolate with Orange Candy in it. I stood so long at the register that I finally leaned on something and crossed my arms. I saw a young lady come in and she disappeared in the back and minutes later came out and hurriedly walked past me. She turned out to also be an employee but maybe not on the clock as she too, disappeared. Finally the male came out and asked if I was ready. My response was likely less than amicable. Checked out then swore I was done here and I'd visit other markets from now on,. By the way. The candy awful tasting and I threw the bag away with it more than half full. Tasted like a very cheaply made Chocolate. I've stopped at the place for several years and really thought it top notch until last year and today. Too bad as it is a nice looking place but customer service seems to not be a priority here and at least the one product I tasted today...
