Market Basket — Local services in Groves

Update Nearly one year ago I visited this store as I annually do when I come in for the holidays and it needed much attention.. but oh how they have changed in a year!

I was in recently on my annual trip and needed to stock up on all great Cajun products and meats.. and low and behold.. the revamp of the store was completed.

The store front has a new modern face lift that will be bound to survive the next seasons hurricanes. The parking lot lights and area are well lit and open. The overall front area of the store has a great inviting presence.

As you enter the store, they have changed the lighting and the walking flow so that you can easily get what you need without clutter and they used clearly posted signs and markings for specials.

As to the classic memory of the store, they have kept all of the check out stations just as you have always known them. The baskets as well and the Managers station is still elevated and visible by everyone.. so you know where to find them if you need to.

The meat counter area is brightly lit and always providing fresh choice cuts.

Overall, the service has improved as well. I simply walked down any aisle and I was always greeted and directed to where I needed to find something. Sometimes, the best stores have the best employees.. and this is a family heritage that covers every generation.

Bruce's is a neighborhood staple. It has survived and updated with the times. I am pleased that they finally were able to complete the renovations and stay off the weather of time and be around for future...

Walked to get a shopping basket but for some reason it would not close. I walked over to this little booth where three employees were sitting. I was ignored at first, so I knocked on the window, although they could see me walk up. Finally, I asked whether either one of them could help me with closing the shopping basket? The younger looking Male exhaled as if I was bothering him but he did come to assist. I politely talked to him and not once did he uttered one word. Finally he said, it's broke. I wasn't actually shopping at Market Basket I was in there getting a rx filled from Bruce's Pharmacy which is located inside the Market Basket. However, while I was burning time waiting for my rx to be ready I noticed that Market Basket had several items that you prob won't find or find in stock anywhere else. For example, my favorite Body Armor flavor is Blue Raspberry & it's pretty hard to find most of the time but Market Basket has plenty of them along with any other flavor you can possibly want. I like the fact that you can also purchase single air filters & they always have my size in stock.
