First I want to say I wrote a review a few years ago and gave it 1 star. They have fixed the issue with the rude woman insulting those who come in and don't speak English well. I have not seen this manager in many months, if she is there, she is in the back and that helps a lot! She was the main reason for my negative review.
It seems like they are starting to rely less and less on what someone happened to post it online for and just pricing things to move a bit faster. That is how a thrift store should be! I had donated items before that did not sell for years in my online store, and they priced them higher than I had originally purchased them for. So, there were some real pricing issues at this place. Some things have improved, though they still have a little ways to go, they are much more reasonable and are starting to make their way to my top 3 thrift stores in the region.
I do miss my friend who used to call me "Sweet Pea" at the register she was kind and caring with everyone. I hope she is ok, I have not seen her since the hurricane. She is missed around that store by me for sure! But the new people are very nice too.
As has been mentioned before they don't process cards for under 5 dollars, so make sure you take some cash. You can potentially find a lot for under 5, which is a huge...
Read moreThe clothing was not arranged in any order at all. Not customer friendly at all. As my daughter was checking out, I attempted to return my shopping cart (I am an elderly lady who uses a shopping cart to walk in n stores) a woman practically ran over me to check out with someone else waiting her turn. She stepped on the heel of my foot as she was pushing through. My daughter told her that she had pushed by me and on my foot. She did not say a word. I told her I did not appreciate what she had done and the tall skinny grey haired employee said it was ok. I told her it was not ok then the skinny gray haired employee started making fun of me and mocking me. She told me the lady is a regular there and she would not do that but she did. Then the employee made a sweeping motion with her hands to us and we left. One of her patrons asked where we were from. What an awesome armistice to create in something referred to as “Holy Spirit”. As a Christian I am appalled. Never again. Btw. I’m local that is where I am from and I will tell all I Know about this...
Read moreI walked into the Holy Spirit Thrift Shop at 12:48 looking to see if they had a dresser I could refurbish. As soon as I walked in the door an older lady tells me they are closed. I said your sign says 1pm. She said "Yes but you have 5 minutes". I start to speak and stop myself. I take 5 steps and another lady says "we're closing". I responded, "the sign says you close at 1pm". She looked confused that I somehow knew that. I get to the furniture section and another lady tells me they are closed. I told her I am aware because every lady up front told me. She responded with "I just wanted to reiterate" but went on to ask me if I was looking for something in particular. I told her "I was but I'm going to go so I don't inconvenience you all any further". She responded that she would help me and I told her to have a good day.
WHYYYYY would I spend a penny of my or anyone else's money in a place that clearly didn't want me there? I only wish HOLY Thrift Shop had a little more HOLY. I thank...
