Compton & Son Appliance LLC and Outdoor Living Center — Local services in Gulfport

After 20 years we needed a new washer and dryer. Our oven also went out. We shopped a number of big box stores, but wanted to shop local and give business to a hometown store. In July we purchased from Comptons, a Frigidaire oven and a GE Profile washer and dryer. All appliances were delivered in August. The oven was a good purchase, but the washer has been a nightmare. The day the washer and dryer were delivered, I tried them out, with the delivery men present. I hated it and wanted it returned. I called Comptons and talked with the man who sold it to us. He was very rude and said they would take it back for an additional $500 restocking fee. I am 76 years old and on a fixed income, so I did not pay the $500 restock fee, trying to deal with the washer. Now something has happened with it and I’m having to deal with the GE service repair. All I want is a regular washing machine, not one with a mother board and water saving device. I’m sorry, I will not shop Comptons again. My new refrigerator was delivered today. This was my first time working with Compton & Son Appliance. What a great experience! First of all, when I walked in the door to choose a fridge, Rodney & Meghann made me feel welcome, and really knew what they were talking about. It’s refreshing to work with people who are so knowledgeable regarding the appliances they carry. Rodney answered every question I had, and did so with patience, genuine kindness & professionalism. The pricing, checkout & delivery scheduling were straightforward. No one tried to sell me things I didn’t need. They assisted me in choosing what I wanted, as promptly as possible, and made the whole in-store process smooth & even enjoyable. Mark & Gregg went above and beyond with our delivery - really took their time. Hauled my old fridge off, and brought the new one in with such care, like it was a Fabergé egg. I highly recommend Compton’s to anyone in the market for a new appliance, and who wants next level service to go with it. Looking forward to working with y’all in the future for my next purchase....

I renovated an older home and needed all new kitchen appliances. I highly recommend Compton's. Rodney is extremely knowledgeable and patient, I asked a lot of questions. Due to the national supply chain issues it took a while to get the appliances in but when they arrived Compton's stored the appliances until my renovation was complete. When I needed them Compton's put me on their delivery schedule. The appliances were delivered on the day and time they said they would be. Marcus and Demetrius arrived and were professional and polite. They handled adversity well as my fridge wouldn't fit through the front door and they had to partially disassemble it to get it in my house. Everything went back together without a hitch.
