I purchased 7 boxes of laminate flooring last week at Hood's Home Center. 7 boxes was the recommended amount for my square footage by the Hood's employee. I was just short of enough tile to finish my closets. Not knowing exactly how many I would need I purchased an entire box (12 per box). I could have purchased them individually but wasn't sure how many I needed. Turns out I only needed 5 out of the 12 tiles. When I asked to return my new unused 7 extra tiles, I was told by the manager, Michael, that while they do sell individual tiles, the store policy was we only take back complete and full boxes. In summary, Hood's will sell individual tile to make a dollar, but will not offer the same policy when it comes to returns & customer satisfaction. I was told by the manager to just put the extra ones in the attic incase I ever need them. Sure, I can just throw $50+ worth of materials I will never use again up in the attic! Thank you Hood's.....when it comes time to do the other rooms in my home I will be sure to go to Lowe's just down the street.

In my opinion Hoods Home center in Gulfport doesn't deserve even 1 star,After using Hoods for years and installing literally hundreds of thousands of sq.feet of the so called waterproof snap together vinal flooring,I installed about 4500 s,into one of my remodels, I acclimated the product for over a week,I used a type with the padding already attached, about 3 months later it began to buckle, from cupping, when I reached out to Hoods they had me contact a inspector in the south Mississippi area, after a year I got the inspection, it come back that the instalation was done properly, but they still wouldn't honor the guarantee, leaving me out of pocket for around 10 k materials and labor, not to mention the money i have to pay an attorney just to try to get what any reputable retailers would have already honored, take it from me , if you need flooring get it from someone reputable!!!!! I was told six weeks for delivery and when I called at six weeks when nothing came, I was told another six weeks due to Covid (which I do understand). The other issue was the installer they sent to measure did not take into account the unusual placement of the existing cabinets and only measured the lengths and widths. The cabinets themselves are beautiful, solid wood, and after some rearranging by the installer I hired on my own, I am pleased with how they turned out. Great quality cabinets at a very reasonable price, customer service could have been better.

To start I made a phone sale which was very complicated because I had to send pictures of my information through email in order to do so which technically would not help any fraud situations ,just has my information left in their computer. Second front desk girls are rude a lot of the guys in the back are rude and third after spending $3500 indoors and other materials All the doors were missing screws in the threshold at the bottom of the jams , One Frenchdoor unit had missing weatherstripping on the sides the other French door unit Weatherstripping was 2 inches too short on both sides. I called back and that's all they want to offer me this weatherstripping. I live 45 minutes away. I told them it was cheaper to buy a weatherstripping and save my gas and time , he has absolutely had nothing else to offer me. His name was Blake, basically told me I can come get the weatherstripping and waste a half a day or don't come get it ,he wouldn't offer me a discount or nothing for my time that would be wasted because they have kids building doors in the back.They know who I am. I Custom ordered two French door units and a single unit. They can still call me and make it right as of Monday. September 8, 2025 other than that, I will start dealing with Mike's Hardware and Slidell not everybody is perfect, but Time is valuable, especially in the construction business And I know mikes hardware understands that And would definitely make it right in a situation like that ! I've been in construction for over 30 years andIn the past five years After finding out about hoods, I told tons of people about their cabinet prices, custom doors, and how fast they make them ...it will never...

Horrible experience. I'm building a house and bought couple things from Hoods and everything was fine until I purchased a cabinet. Got home, got it unboxed and discovered it had light damage and was missing a shelf. Time is of the essence so I decided to mount the cabinet and fix the light damage myself. The following day went back to Hoods in hopes to recover the missing shelf and was a bit surprised when the sales person ( Tony) told me he couldn't replace the shelf and I had to bring the whole cabinet back for swap out. After confirming with him 3 times and explaining to him that the cabinet was mounted on the wall and knob wholes drilled I got the same answer. Went home, got the cabinet down, brought it back. Was met by manager (Christina) and informed she could only give me the missing shelf and couldn't swap out the cabinet. At this point cabinet sustained more minor damages due to reinstall and transportation. To say I was disappointed is huge understatement. I reached out back to salesman who said he would talk to the general manager (Mike Hamric) and get back to me the following day and he did. The answer stood, I could have a shelf but not a cabinet replacement. Unprecedented lack of communication between employees, non-existent customer service ethics. I believe the management could've been more professional and at least honored long time employees word. Would not recommend...

I was locked in the garden center yesterday. The store closed & all employees raced out of the parking lot. NO ONE checked the garden area nor made any P.A. announcements nor hollered out there that they were closing! My large Cadillac sat right there for all to see as they left. Apparently no one cared to take notice and come back to let me out. They were prob driving too fast to notice. My arms were full of goods that I had intended on purchasing. I was also interested in some pots & a fountain but they were not priced. No one came out to help me the entire time. I said hello to a girl at the desk on my way in. A man came out there 2 or 3 times. I said hello to him twice. I don't know who he was. I believe an employee. I had left my cell in my car charging. What an experience! I was very frightened. I called today to speak with a Mgr about what happened so this does not happen to anyone else. She sounded young...inexperienced. The ONLY thing she said was, "I'm sorry ma'am." Never asked my name...it remained, "ma'am." Why has customer service become virtually non existent? Employee's in MOST establishments act as though we (the customer) are invading their domain.
