Expensive, dusty shelves and they never have the items on sale of the day/week.
Their normal prices are at least 10 cents over the prices of other supermarkets. Which wouldn't be that bad if you only buy the items on the shopper, however they almost never have them on stock. Most of the time they don't have the rice they advertise on sale, even though its usually cheaper to buy at other supermarkets anyway, and today, the day before school started, I went at 11 am, the hour they opened, yet somehow they had run out of the cheese ritz bits snacks they advertised on the shopper, which should last for 3 more days. I guess their plan is to lure you there with the items on sale and since you are already there you buy other stuff, then when you look for the items you really went in for, they don't have them. The worst part is when you realize that the next week you go for the next sale, and apparently everything that was on sale the prior week appears magically, taking the place of the sales of the week of course.
But the worst part are the shelves, they are packed with dust. The floors are clean at least, but don't ever try to pull something from a shelves close to your face, or God forbid, touch the shelves with your hands. You will regret it for hours. Even more when you realize you have to go around all the registers to get to the bathrooms since they have blocked around half of them with shelves which, obviously, are also covered in dust. An asthmatic nightmare.
If you have no other options but to buy here for some reason, go prepared to ask for them to trade something of less quality for the sales, like getting Casera beans instead of Goya beans because they apparently run out of the good beans somehow, or pay extra for the items your family enjoy the next week, when they are not on sale anymore. If you can, just go to another supermarket, even if you have to pay a little more on gas, it will end up being cheaper anyway and your nose will...
Read moreOnly made the visit after learning they had some things on sale, but the visit, though close to home, resulted a total loss of time, energy and money. I was only able to get 2 of the sale items, some of the others were not in optimum conditions as to invest on them. I was also buying some other needed groceries and when comparing prices, was shocked at how high these were, compared to other supermarkets in their same range. Not one to consider in the future, even with...
