The customer service is always great at both the grocery store & cafe & you won’t find a cleaner store anywhere. Grocery prices are competitive. Yes, some things are more expensive, but people forget this is a locally owned business that doesn’t have its own warehouse like Piggly Wiggly. It costs them more, much more on certain items, to stock items than Wal-Mart & larger national chains. Hands down the best meat department within driving distance. Again, some meat prices may be higher, but you get what you pay for. I’d rather pay more for a top quality, hand cut ribeye than get a cheaper, lower quality steak somewhere else that’s tougher than leather & almost as tasty. Overall, anybody from Hackleburg who doesn’t buy local must’ve forgotten what it was like doing without the convenience of a local grocery store for three years. Went back to the store to see about just getting another big bag of them for the kids and NONE of them were good. Bought tomatoes there before as well and REGRETTED IT. From there there are NUMBEROUS items you can scan on the WIC app that show approved and match what's needed on my own personal approved list and are even approved at OTHER locations such as those walmarts mentioned above, however this store does not show them as approved...
Read moreI love this market. I visit there every week. I don't think I've ever had any trouble with an employee until today. She didn't want to seem to put things in a bag. She placed very heavy items on top of my chicken tenders, which were raw. She seemed shocked that I wanted my ten pound turkey in a bag. So I will continue to patronize the market. I will make an extra effort never to check out...
