Bowers Market — Local services in Hamilton

First let me start off by saying that the one star unfortunately is because Google makes you put a star. this company doesn't even deserve a negative star. I live a block away from this gas station and I have had multiple problems with the employees and ownership. The first time I had a problem it had to do with the fact that they have a check policy that says you have to use a local bank well I'm a veteran and I use the bank that's for veterans that's not local here. Which I understand I even told The owner that. Which to me if you're not going to pay to use the check service that runs the check to tell you if you're a good check writer or not then you should either not except checks or have to except every check that is presented to you because you have no way to know and then basically you're telling somebody that has a good history with their bank that they don't have the right to write a check when everybody else does because they use a local bank. Second if you're going to hire employees that are going to tell lies to customers and then ask your customer to leave the store when they call them out on their lie that is unacceptable. And then you're going to hang up the phone when the customer leaves the store and tries to call to make a complaint. I'm all about supporting my local businesses, and for a company that receives at least $300 a month of my money I find this...

Bought a couple of hats from this establishment. Went back three days later to return the merchandise and was told that due to covid19 they could not take back the hats. Inquire as to why a virus is keeping a business from accommodating a simple refund. Of course, the response was "because of covid". Asked to speak to a manager, was told that speaking to one will not make a difference. Gave my contact information to have manager contact me at their covid convenience. It has been almost a week, I am still waiting. Every one in Ravalli County is expected to support local businesses by shopping local. I for one will not shop local, especially if I am going to be hassle about getting my money back!! Shame on you Corvallis Merc! Shame on your management! Your ridiculous refund rule is ruining chances for other local businesses that might actually have thought...

Sadly the quality and convenience of this store has gone down hill since it became Bowers Market. I hope that someday Bowers Market would stop cutting corners to save a dime. And get it's standards back up to where it use to be when it was The Merc Fresh Market. It's a convenience store it's suppose to be convenient. Plus the deli needs to step up their game. I remember ordering shrimp Poe boys when I was a kid. Also get the old chicken strip recipe back a long with the jojo's.
