When we enrolled in February, my husband and I were genuinely excited to introduce our daughter to gymnastics and believed Jewart’s would be a supportive, welcoming environment. Unfortunately, from day one, that has not been the case.
On our first visit, we were met with indifference at the front desk. The woman there did not greet us, introduce herself, or ask our names—just vaguely told us to “go upstairs.” Once there, I relied entirely on what I had read online to figure out what group we were in. When “Little Dippers” were called, my daughter—understandably nervous on her first day—began to cry. Instead of offering reassurance, guidance, or even her name, the teacher silently took my daughter from my arms and walked her into the room. I sat in the waiting area, anxious and unable to see her. The TV monitor was broken, and the viewing window was covered by a curtain—completely opposite from what we were told when we signed up.
I returned to the front desk to voice my concerns, only to be met with a dismissive, “they usually cry on their first day. I’m sure she’s fine.” I tried to explain that while I understand children may cry initially (I work with children professionally), it is entirely unacceptable to have no introduction or communication with the person I’m entrusting my child to. Eventually, she went to check on my daughter, but the lack of empathy and professionalism left a lasting impression. To this day, I have never been introduced to a single one of her instructors.
The final straw was when We showed up for class to find the facility dark. I went to the same front desk employee and asked what was going on. Her response, laced with attitude, was, “There are no more classes on Saturday. You got MULTIPLE emails.” I was surprised, as I had received nothing. After checking, she backtracked, saying, “Oh yeah, looks like you aren’t signed up for email blasts. Sorry.” When I tried to ask a follow-up question, she cut me off mid-sentence to say she needed to go take tickets for a performance—and repeated this again, talking over me while I was still speaking.
These repeated instances of rudeness, poor communication, and a complete lack of basic customer service have made it clear that Jewart’s was not the right place for our family. I’m beyond disappointed by how unwelcoming and unprofessional this experience has been. As someone who works in a similar capacity to your front desk staff, I fully understand the demands of the job—but that doesn’t excuse the lack of courtesy or empathy we’ve...
Read moreThe “teacher” was extremely rude not only to my daughter, but to me as well. I registered my daughter for two classes/week. And couldn’t be more disappointed to waste money like this. This horrible person who “teaches” there YELLED at me in front of other parents because my daughter ran. Totally unstable, aggressive and arrogant person who shouldn’t be handling kids. She said children are not allowed to run. Asked if I see other kids running there! And YEAH! I see kids running all the time! My daughter is not very good at physical activities hence we put her here, so the teacher won’t accept and treat her well. Because she is not a kid they can show and attach their name to. So definitely not a kid friendly place at all. If your kid is not professional like, they will make it personal and will even treat you bad in front of other people. Do not ruin your kids self steem with this cash driven place. My kid does piano lessons, swimming lessons, did dance lessons, goes to school… and never in my life I saw a teacher approach a parent like this! Shouting! I am so well treated everywhere we set foot in. And now I have this totally traumatic experience that I’ll be sure to share with every single...
Read moreMy daughter is 8 years old and took gymnastics here for 5 years and it was great in the beginning, but a disheartening letdown toward the end. The communication is horrible and nonexistent and their Zoom set-up never works. During this past year, we kept getting emails stating that my daughter had missed class, yet she was always there and always on time! I tried letting them know via email and at the desk about this issue but never got a reply. I became convinced that her coach didn't even know her name for accurate attendance! I started asking if I could discuss with her coach when she might be evaluated to move up to the next level or if there was another class that we should enroll in and the only reply I received was an email telling me the coach would be in touch. She never was. The communication was so bad during the annual showcase that the flyers didn't even include her group, but everyone there was cold and rude when I tried to ask when we were supposed to be there. Even after I emailed to let them know we would not be returning, I got no reply AFTER 5 YEARS of going here and paying for...
