I wish I could say better things about this business, especially because it's located right around the corner from my house and it's convenient to shop here. I was leaving the store recently and while on my way to my car, a RAT came charging at me, I moved out of the way and it ran straight to the store doors trying to get in. It's difficult to get in to the store without coming in direct contact with some one who is drunk, asking you for a ride or asking for money - although this has gotten better over the past year. Half of the cashiers are pretty rude and unfriendly, the other half are very pleasant, half of management is rude and couldn't be bothered, the other half couldn't be happier to help you. The amount of times I've been in almost altercations with some of the people who shop here is untraceable, and the store never opens on time, from my own experience of needing something early in the morning and standing outside the doors at 7:20am when their sign says 7... if it's 7:20, just say that to set the expectation. I usually just drive to Publix or Harris Teeter just to save myself the trouble of wondering what experience I'm going to...
Read moreThe cashier made a mistake scanning someone else's stuff but assuming it was mine and then got rude with me... I waited a long time for her to scan the lady in front of me's pack of gum and then when she scanned my ONE ITEM, I paid with my card, heard it beep, and left because she started grabbing the next customer's stuff. But then she chased me outside and told me she never checked me out because she thought the load of groceries on the counter were a part of my purchase. But the way she went about it made everyone look at me like I was stealing one box of cookies. HER ASSUMPTION made her make a mistake. When I walked back and paid for it with no complaints, she said to me in a passive aggressive tone, "That's why I like when customers ARENT ON THEIR PHONE at the cashier so I can ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE WITH THEM". Read moreUpdated review December 2024: they seem to have tried to add more people and cashiers. The self checkout machines are all broken and need to go but at least they seem to be going back in the right direction
Update addendum: went to the corporate web site to lodge a complaint and the web site is designed to not receive them. Corporate shenanigans. Time to call the BBB. Oh, and for months they have advertised Monster drinks at sale price that is never actually offered. False advertising. Update review: the self check out machines need to be removed completely. They are always broken and are definitely losing business, as I and others have walked out rather than go through that experience. Original review: Grossly understaffed and almost never live cashiers. The workers that are still left are great people but completely overworked. Lose the self checkout and rehire your staff.
