Luke’s is a terrible place to do business with. Was quoted a price and time to do the job in writing. Cost of job after completion was $2,000 more then quoted and time promised to do the job was 3 days. Luke’s took over a month. Steve the owner claim he had additional parts and time involved which was proved to be a lie that he was caught in. He then agreed to the original price but when I arrived to pay the balance wanted to argue. I had to put $10,000 up front before work was even started and had to constantly stay on him to complete the job. What added insult to injury was his two sons who were with Steve at the time I arrived to pay the balance (another 5,000) total - $15,000; Steve was confrontational and threatening. Never saw or dealt with any thing like this. Unless you don’t mind over paying and deal with a very unprofessional business, I strongly suggest not doing business with him. My wife and I are planning to do the Great Loop soon and I wanted reliable instruments.
Steve, the owner of Luke’s marine Service, met me at the boat. Spent over 2 hours going over my list, checked our systems, and even recommended NOT to replace some electronics (Auto Pilot), which was working well, adding, “Save ur money on this”.
Steve and his crew were at the boat on time and within 3 days had everything working excellent and over and above expectancy. I have scheduled a few more projects on the boat with Steve and his crew which they will be doing during the winder: Sonar, underwater lights, sound system, etc.
Bottom Line: if you have been looking for a great electronic company, reasonably priced.... STOP LOOKING You have found them.
Happy boating...
Read moreSteve at Luke’s Marine Service is a class act. After years of questionable prices and recommended services from other dealers and marine service technicians or businesses, there is no question in my mind of Steve’s honesty and no nonsense approach to keeping my boat in great condition. Whether he winterizes it, shrink wraps it, repairs something or makes sure it’s ready for launch in the spring, he combines quality work and fair pricing with professional services clearly motivated by a moral compass that, for me, is always pointed in the right direction. In a marketplace all too often void of these professional attributes, Luke’s Marine Service sets the bar at a level any boater can’t help...
