River Rat Restaurant — Restaurant in Harrison Township

Just have to come and eat the great food. U wont be upset that i promise. Plus the employees are all like one big family. Untill the place gets slammed and everyone is busy. Well then who needs family then. Lol jk place is great, owners are even better. Worked for jimmy and Tony for 25yrs all i can say is that they care not only for themselves and their business, but they both treat every employee the same. No matter the issue or the struggle they both been there to help. I could go on an on about how good river rat is not only cuz ive been there the whole 12yrs we been at this location. But the hell with what i say if u hear the name river rat or have friends that are going ask to join along or better yet just show up.9 out of 10 times u will be satisfied. Id like 10 out of 10 then again is life 100% perfect all the time. Ill pay the whole bill to any 1st time patrons that are not happy. I swear u all can hold me to it. 1st timers only tho. I love this place! When I pulled up I 1st thought they where closed because we didn't see any cars. Well they have a 2nd car lot and that's where everyone was parked (Idk why, maybe a townie thing). When I walked in I was nicely surprised (you don't know what your going to get w/ the name like River Rat, lol) its done in cherry wood and has a bar side w/ big t.v.s for sports. There is also a restaurant side that looked cozy and clean, but we sat on the bar side. The bartender was our wait staff, she was friendly enough, but a little cold, I liked it, because she wasn't asking me hows everything when my mouth is full. The reason I went to River Rat was for their seafood and they didn't let me down. I had my 1st martini and it was a little watered down, but I'm grateful that it was! I chose to have two 6oz Lobster tails and OMG they where delicious 😋, writing this is making my mouth water! My tails where so succulent, not the dried up hard tails that you get most places. My boyfriend and I tried this place last night. The server for what little we saw her was nice. I ordered the 6oz filet and lobster tail asked for my steak well done (yes I know the sacrilege) and my boyfriend ordered the Cajun shrimp and Alfredo. When the food came to the table the steak was super rare still bleeding (might as well of been mooing) I put it on a side plate and asked for it to just be put back on and cooked a little more. When it was brought back it was clear it was microwaved and was basically rubber I couldn't even eat it. The potatoes where slimy (I'm assuming boiled and just covered in butter) and the lobster tail which was okish was still overdone and chewy. My boyfriend shrimp for his dinner was also chewy and hardly any seasoning. (For a place that does seafood wth?) We honestly don't really complain much so we just paid the bill tipped well (it's not the servers fault the food was garbage) but I honestly wish I had asked them to comp the meal seems how I hardly ate any of it.
