If I could give negative stars, it would be -5!
I believe in being fair and doing 'the right thing'. I understand that different small tracks have different policies. I understand a 'no rain checks, no refund' policy. I also believe in 'truth in advertising'. June 1st, 2019 was advertised as their 'Night of Destruction' and promoted to potential race entrants as 'rain or shine'.
I began going to this track way back in 2004 or 2005. Because I live 45 minutes from there, at 5:45-ish (15 minutes before festivities) because there was a chance of rain/storms, I contacted someone I knew to be racing tonight to make sure nothing had been canceled and the races were still happening, and was told that the track had informed him that the race(s) were 'rain or shine.
Literally less than 10 minutes after my friend's and my arrival, an announcement was made that 'the track was closing to preserve the track for next week's races" due to the incoming rain. (How is that 'rain or shine'?) Since I had been on the property for less than 10 minutes I went to the gate and asked for a refund. I was reminded of the 'no refund, no returns' policy and was refused a refund of my $20 admission (per person) paid.
So not only was their 'rain or shine' policy blatantly disregarded at their discretion, but their 'no refunds no returns' policy was strictly adhered to.
I understand the policies and the reasoning behind them. But WRONG IS WRONG. In my opinion this was false advertisement to the public and the racers, and in general, very very horrible customer service to charge someone regular admission prices then close the track 10 minutes later and refuse to refund their money. GREED IS BAD BUSINESS.
I will not be returning to Hartford Motor Speedway but I most certainly will be telling everyone about my experience. There are far too many short tracks in this area almost begging for paying customers, one or more of which that will be getting my...
Read moreSo this was my first time ever to this track , I attended this racetrack on fri.sept.3rd.2021. And I had a really great time the racing was really great and the layout of the place is really great I also love that day offer free hospitality which they have a golf cart that you can catch a ride up the hill and you can bring a cooler and a chair they even do have a family section , I also really liked that the concessions weren't too far away and the bathrooms weren't too far away either and they were real bathrooms , the owner #Leah is really awesome and very friendly and very helpful and so was #Tim the golf cart driver at the track & so are all the other employees as well , so if you're ever here and you have a question just look for someone wearing a red shirt that says #HartfordMotorSpeedway on it and they'll be more than happy to help you in any way or answer any questions that you have , thank you so much again for such an awesome time and I'll definitely be back as a matter of fact I'm planning on going to the event next Saturday 9/11, 21 for night of destruction...
Read moreI’ve enjoyed going here since a kid. The drawbacks have always been the concrete style seats. However upon the most recent visit for the nights of destruction in sep 2020, I was extremely disappointed at the amount of overselling of tickets that happened. Forget corona, there was just way more people allowed in then there was even room for people to sit. We had people using our cooler as an arm rest. Putting their feet on our blankets and our backpack. We got there two hours early to get decent seats and my kids were hardly able to see and people we practically sitting on top of us because there was just no where else for people to sit. My youngest spent most of the night crying because of all of this. Complete waste of my money and we ended up having to leave early because the of the level of intoxication of the group behind us taunting us. I definitely would not return because of the speedways complete lack of consideration...
